Lucy and Katie are beautiful girls. They both look so happy.

And, there's nothing wrong with a little OCD in everyone's life.

I bought some big, concrete planters for my compact hollies today. They look nice and traditional, just what I wanted. Plain and simple is sometimes the best. It will look great next to the brick on my house. I'll pot them this evening and take pics tomorrow unless it's raining hard. A storm is rolling in tonight.

While I was there, I picked up some cilantro, parsley, basil, yellow grape tomatoes, and several bags of potting soil on sale. The manager told me about a special on some roses -- $1 per rose bush!! I grabbed three of them. Googled them just now and discovered they are Amber Flower Carpet roses, a groundcover rose that's perfect for landscaping beds. I am going back to get the rest of them at this price!! I hope no one gets them before I do, lol. At this price, I can afford to fill up our entire bed I created last summer with the edging stones.

We are calling 811 before we dig to make sure it's ok, and then my husband is going to dig down about 12 inches to get up all the grass and roots and weeds. We'll put in the roses, some black dirt, fertilizer, and mulch the bed. It will be lots of hard work.

Tomorrow is my three-year sober anniversary. I'm working tomorrow from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., but there might be some ice-cream and cake happening at some point.

They look beautiful J! And I agree that plain and simple can be best with planters.

I don't know what 811 is...dial before you dig? I will look it up.

And woo hoo darling girl.....there will be cake and ice cream here as well tomorrow!!!

(But none for me unless I finish our book today).

Yep, it's the call-before-you-dig number.

You're nearly finished with the book? I am embarrassed to admit I have neglected my reading, V. I think I will have to let this one go and finish it at another time when things aren't so hectic. But then again, now that I seem to be getting used to my new job, maybe I can relax in the evening and read for an hour. I want to try that. It seems I am finding so many things around the house to do, so I keep putting off my reading.

Do you have your copy of The Invention of Wings yet? I guess we could start on that tomorrow, since it's the start of a new month. What do you think?

I've started the Invention of Wings, too. Did you know it's based on the lives of two women who lived in Charleston? I loved it from the first page.

Jennie, it's so good to see you enthusiastic about your garden and all the work you guys plan to do. I bet it will look amazing.

Congratulations on 3 years sober, and for everything you offer to our members every day. And, thank you for your friendship. )

No, I didn't know that, Anna. Now I'm even more interested in the story, knowing they're from Charleston.

Thanks for the congrats.

Thanks so much, you all!

The bear and ice-cream cake are awesome. Venuscat, I think I could eat half that cake right now! Lol.

Venuscat and Anna, I think I've found just the thing to facilitate my reading...

What do you think? Doesn't it look awesome? And of course, that's fruit juice in that glass.

I'll have no more excuses not to read our book club selections. I've been soaking in the tub every night to deal with work stress, so I'll just take my iPad or book with me into the tub.

Oh My Gosh....that is seriously awesome. I want one...but first I need a bigger bath, and a tablet. (I only have my laptop).

Seriously, the person who thought of that must have made a fortune.
I love it. You should get one Jennie ~ a 3-year anniversary gift.

I have looked at several and this is the one!! Lol. It has that extra slot to hold your phone. Plus, it doesn't just have the wine glass slot -- it also comes with a circular area that will hold a coffee cup or regular cup. Many of them had that wine glass slot but no regular cup holder!

I have these French bee glasses that hold water or iced tea but look like wine glasses because of the stem. I was afraid the bottom might be too thick to fit into that slot.

Oh, it's adjustable to fit narrow or wide tubs, V.

Wow, can you imagine if it collapsed or slipped? The electronics would be ruined.

I might put rubberized feet on the bottom to grip the tub.
