I put together my new shoe rack. It's great. I need at least two more! I have to get rid of some shoes. It's ridiculous. And I need to get rid of some clothes. The shoe rack got all my shoes up off the floor. I so needed that extra space!
I'm having Talenti coconut gelato. Pretty good stuff.
Next, I'm going to grab one of the Boston ferns from where I work. They went on sale. Also grabbing some bags of potting soil while they're still on sale.
Can't decide whether to buy some great, big pots and some boxwoods or to wait on that. I'm putting them on either side of the entrance to the garage. The pots and larger sized boxwoods will be kind of expensive, but they add nice curb appeal and are a good idea when staging a house for sale.

There are some beautiful planters available now.
I am partial to the blue-look shiny ceramic pots, but I love a Mediterranean feel.
That more than likely wouldn't be what you want....dark would be good I think, but I do love the polished-look planters.

I bought a Dahlia, a Kimberly Queen fern, and two Compact Cone Hollies. The hollies resemble boxwoods. I like their natural conical shape a little more than I want to shape up a boxwood. Seems lower maintenance. Looks just as nice, with a slightly darker color. Tomorrow I'll get the planters.
Yes J, my mum had zillions of them....and you only need one. They are unbelievably easy to propagate. I can see our backyard so clearly in my mind's eye....it was filled with trees and passionfruit and my mum's pot plants.
I inherited my love of plants and my green thumb from her.

I live in a tiny flat, and have over thirty indoor plants. I am unbelievably proud of my gloxinias, which are incredibly beautiful, and 28 and 29 years old. I post pictures here sometimes; my favourite pink and white speckled one is on my page.

I saw them; they're beautiful!
My very first plant I grew as an adult living on my own was a jade clipping my grandmother gave me, which came from my great-grandmother's humongous, old jade plant. She kept two on either side of the sidewalk entryway leading up to their house. I started that little clipping in 2002-2003, I think. I'm proud of it. I managed to keep it alive through some of my worst drinking. Amazing, really. Tom, my ex, actually saved it at one point. When we split up, I gave him a clipping off the plant which had grown much larger by that time. He has kept it alive.
