Soberpotamus's Oral Surgery Recovery Support & Journal Part 4
Wait....sorry....one sec....
first of all:
that's wonderful!!!

I'm thinking of a name for the new thread. I'm thinking: 'Big Life Changes' or 'Potamus & Friends' Big Life Changes' ... or something like that, anyway. I want it to be a place where anyone who wants can share what's going on in their lives, especially those who want to make life changes or are in the middle of changes. As we all know, making changes is stressful, but necessary, if you want to change your life. We all need support and understanding.
I encourage anyone to contribute. Newbie or not. One day sober or 30+ years.

V, I brought home two peace lilies today. They're four feet tall already. I think they'll be six feet tall at full height. I'll take pics later. Too tired. Plus, I didn't get the nice pots for them yet.
Oh ... guess what?? I got an email today. I have an interview for the rural route carrier job at the post office!! It's for the United States Postal Service and it's kind of a big deal. I think I'm lucky to get this interview. I scored really high on the test. They want to interview me.

I am getting super excited and trying to contain myself, really. These are sweet gigs for the right person. I think I'd be great at this type of job. I have a good memory, and good with directions, and am a great driver. I nailed that test. It's about scanning really quickly and finding discrepancies, looking at lists of numbers, addresses, and being able to categorize and remember numbers and names.
Also, John Gardner, the writer, wrote in one of his books that rural routes can be excellent jobs for writers who need to support themselves. He said once you learn the route (it becomes habit), it frees your mind up to daydream and kind of meditate on your writing. I can see this would work!

I would also love that job J ~ in fact, I have enquired here.
I think it would be awesome, and yes, you would be brilliant at it.
And it would be (is, because I did a walking delivery job for ages) peaceful...
And the new thread title is?

Oh, almost forgot ... the peace lilies clean the air. I read about them recently. NASA did research on this plant's abilities to clean different kinds of toxins in the air and it ranks as #1 among plants.
I'm really proud of my peace lilies, lol. I am such a nerd.
And it appeals to my germophobic husband, so it was a win all around.

Dee, I'll share. There's Rocky Road, Belgian Chocolate, Mango, Java Chip, Rum Raisin (but pretty sure no alcohol), and Vanilla, Tangerine & Shortbread.
V, you said you have around 40 plants in your flat, right? I'm sure your air is super clean.
The lily flower feels like an odd texture, almost leathery or rubbery. The leaves are long and dark green, very glossy. It's quite pretty. Very lush.

Jennie, the rural route carrier sounds like it would be a fantastic opportunity. It's great you did so well on the test! Yes, I can picture you writing in your head as you deliver the mail.
