Good thanks Leigh - I'm still napping quite a bit during the day in the comfy chair cos lying down at night is a little uncomfortable still.

It's really sweltery and humid outside but I bought air con for this summer so all is well inside here

Thank God (truly) for air-conditioning.

Glad you are able to rest in the comfy chair.

Hi all, hi Leigh, the matinee was good. I saw some people I hadn't seen in a while.
I liked the condo. It's downtown so very different from my quiet street house. It had a nice view though with trees and there is a lovely roof top garden. I could afford it. I'm very nervous though. It's such a lifestyle change but I do keep going on about how I need a change! The closing is mid Jan if I offered and I'd not get my house sold by then. I'm going to speak to the bank this morning about financing ideas. Wow, I'm nervous!

Leshar: Wishing you lots of good news at the bank today.

To My Australian Mates: I am amazed how you will celebrate Christmas in the summer. Do your traditions, meals and decorations gear toward a summer atmosphere? Here, Christmas, winter, snow, etc all go hand in hand. Is it the opposite there?

Afternoon lovelies! I am a bit late getting to anything because my daughter job shadowed me today and we just finished. She is a senior in high school and they do this twice a year..she picked me first! I am so glad that she and I are back on track. I had lost her for a while. I had pushed her away. Now that I'm getting well I am able to let her back on whether we are getting along or not.
I hope everyone is doing well..((Hug))! to you all!

Some families with English backgrounds usually perservere and do a traditional Christmas roast etc. even here in Queensland where it's tropically hot at Christmas. Not so much anymore though.

This sounds odd, but because of the heat I typically do do a Thai curry because it's refreshing, and more asian style food. There is ALWAYS seafood, cold ham and lots of salads. Some have BBQs. Pavlova with fruit for dessert and cheesecake.
Again, some families are still traditional, and do puddings, fruit mince pies etc. but my family is mixed background, so a bit more practical.

Decorations are traditional though.
Boxing Day (the day after Christmas) is usually BBQs and stuffing yourself full of oodles of leftover ham etc.

I agree, sw. A roast in hot weather doesn't make sense.

Crois's menu sounds great.

My Xmas dinner is still usually a roast - thats the way it's always been...plenty of cold meat and seafood - prawns, bugs - tho, as well

Leshar I adore my 'flat' - it's so much easier to maintain than a house
