I think it's proper to go from Damien Hirst's Virgin Mother to the genuine article. In terms of images of the Madonna & Child, I've always been partial to the Byzantine style. Maybe it's all the gold. But I think it's the expressions in the faces.
The Theotokos of Vladimir, aka Our Lady of Vladimir, around 1130, Constantinople, artist unknown. It's an early example of a type of image of the Virgin Mary where she and Jesus are touching cheeks -- called the Eleusa Virgin or the Virgin of Tenderness.
Try a little tenderness I’ll see you here tomorrow, I hope!
Check back later for the Monday-to-Sunday list!

Good Morning Everyone. Here is to sleeping like a dang baby and waking up at 10AM. Dreaming like crazy as well! I love sober sleep, just LOVE it. I love the mornings as well!
Today I will be having lunch with a friend and taking care of "to do" stuff.
"to be afraid of something is to have the wisdom to examine it closely, to study it well, to prepare for it carefully so that when we do move we are equal to the task" August 2 - Day 8
Signing in for 24 more hours of recovery!
Have a GREAT sober day all!
Prayers constantly being provided to those who are suffering.
Smiles, high fives and congrats going to out milestoners!
....and hugs and love going to you ALL!!!!!

So, I am reading a book; Gratitude: Affirming the Good Thing in Life by M. Beattie I want to share some things here that are in there on this thread that have helped me. I hope they help you too!
"we tell ourselves we are OK. It's wonderful to be who you are! Our thoughts are OK. Our feelings are appropriate. We're right where we are supposed to be today, at this moment. There is nothing wrong with us. If we've done wrongs, that is OK; we are doing the best we could. Despite our assorted character defects, we are OK. We are exactly where we are meant to be. And we're grateful for being who we are"
"sometimes, we can't even do our best; that's OK too. We have feelings, thought, fears, and vulnerabilities as we go through life, but we all do. We need to stop telling ourselves we are different when we are actually doing and feeling what everyone else does."
"we need to be good to ourselves. We need to be compassionate and kind to ourselves. How can we expect to take care of ourselves appropriately if we hate or dislike ourselves?"
be back later! xoxo
