An eagle flying
"Obscured by Clouds", it flies high
I used to get high

I had a vision
My Daddy came to see me
A seizure, perhaps

My Daddy's long gone
He had to leave me too soon
I never knew him

I'm in a good mood
What? You say. Could it be true?
Elseware, the depressed?

I dozed at the spa
Z Z Z Z Z Z Z
With bright red toenails

my dad, a jokster
black, white, good, bad, you name it
he was it, in spades

excessive, hyper
love of God, love of country
to protect and serve

i meditated
at 30,000 feet and
found serenity

flight was full and the
guy next to me should have paid
for two seats but hey

it is what it is
and i was just glad i'm small
and more comfortable

Had a taxing day.
Many stressful things occurred.
But I'm calmer now.

It's warm and sunny
Sky so blue it hurts my eyes
The windows open

Swimming yesterday
Splashed in on my big black horse
Miraculous fun

the thing with swimming
first off, you have to get wet
no choice staying dry

you're surrendering
each time you dive in water
accepting the change

Being in the air
After that initial jump--
That's when it's the worst!

the horrors of war
reflected in monuments
at the capitol

jefferson lincoln
fdr and ww2
bellow like stone ghosts

but vietman and
korean memorials
brought tears to my eyes

an old man touches
his son's name on the wall and
collapses in grief

martin luther king
an artificial little
mount rushmore facade

he deserves honor
don't get me wrong but why is
his dream a nightmare

washington dc
seemingly integrated
but segregated

ignorance persists
and war has not surrendered
while truth is a lie

Washington can be grievous
But the light still shines

It is speaking Greek to me.
Morning bright and new.

Today was so fine
Put my horses on pasture
Cried with happiness

Running and rolling
In the grass, up to their necks
Such joy. Good to see

if asked, what is truth
a child, or murderer
answer what they know

truth is relative
war is truth in action or
missing in action
