the horrors of war
reflected in monuments
at the capitol
jefferson lincoln
fdr and ww2
bellow like stone ghosts
but vietman and
korean memorials
brought tears to my eyes
an old man touches
his son's name on the wall and
collapses in grief
martin luther king
an artificial little
mount rushmore facade
he deserves honor
don't get me wrong but why is
his dream a nightmare
washington dc
seemingly integrated
but segregated
ignorance persists
and war has not surrendered
while truth is a lie
