KimsFriend, today's Big Book quote from AA:

"When we became alcoholics, crushed by a self-imposed crisis we could
not postpone or evade, we had to fearlessly face the proposition that
either God is everything or else He is nothing. God either is or He
isn't."

~Alcoholics Anonymous, 1st Edition, We Agnostics, pg. 53~

Good morning Marchers!
Congratulations KF on 30 days woo-hoo-hoo!! You are so brave and you deserve it!

It was a beautiful sober Easter weekend. My family all (except my wife) drank lots and I watched sober and clear-headed as they all got sluggish and tired and I had lots of energy to keep up with the kids etc. I love that! One of the many many benefits to not drinking!

Getting ready for my weekly business trip. Will be sure to check in with you as this was in the past the worst 2-3 nights for me. lately I have had better weeks but I never let my guard down.

Love to you all from sunny California. -Chris

Hey everyone, remember I told you I have taken up Aerial photography? Well, I promised some pics and here is one of them I took yesterday over my neighborhood... (I should have done it during the day with better lighting but waited until after sunset since I was at the Easter gathering all day)

I have never attached a pic so I hope this works....

Stay strong Enfin.., I know what you mean about how tough today is. I've spent the last hour doing ironing turning down invites to go out - because I feel weak today.

Was walking through town earlier with my 17 year old son. A bloke had fallen over in the street. He had clearly been drinking. A cohort of other drinkers gathered around. He didn't look well - and I thought in that one moment, anyone in their right mind would have enough evidence about the perils and evils of alcohol.. But, a couple of months ago, it could have been me.

Just gotta remind myself....it could have been me in the street too... Had enough fun in Leicester over the years!! Shop shuts here at 8, so that danger gone... Just made a brew... Focus and remember why i don't want to drink...

Enfin! Stay strong! Have some tea and cookies? Well, I know you have some good tea anyways.

Have you talked to your husband about not keeping liquor in the house?

Sean, I think it's smart to stay home if you aren't feeling strong. No sense putting yourself through that if you don't need to.

If you need more ironing to do, you're more than welcome to mine!

Honestly, I think it's hard to see the perils of alcohol while you're drunk. Life was peachy keen for me while I was drunk. At least it was the illusion of being fine. The reality of it is so much uglier.
