Dragon12, you are doing a great job on getting to day 3! Also, realizing that AA is needed is a positive step. You are already beginning to solve the problems that have kept you drinking.

Hi Everyone...Just checking in. Long car ride and lots of shopping today but the worst of it was that I was hungry almost all day..and we all know what that means! Hunger made drinking sooo appealing so I devised a plan:
Bring my daughter home and the conveniently "remember" that I need some Coffeemate for tomorrow, run out to the store for coffeemate and, of course, wine. Sneak it in my bedroom, lock the door, uncork, pour it in a glass, hide it behind the tv and sneak sips (gulps) all night until the bottle is gone. Sounds like such adult, irresponsible, crazy fun, doesn't it? And the best part would be waking up tomorrow not only with a wine hangover but remembering that I just blew 9 days of hard work.

Thank goodness I didn't do it! I came home and ATE, had a cup of tea, and signed on SR. No coffeemate tomorrow but I will survive!

Hope everyone is enjoying a sober weekend..if you are tempted...play the tape to the end

Great job forabetterlife! Tomorrow you'll hit double digits. Woooo!

How is it that we can "creatively problem solve" so easily? My AV told me today that my daughter would end up with drug problems if I didn't drink today (she's 19 and moved out) because there were a bunch of dogs barking. The AV's answer? Have a drink. My answer? Close the window.

Welcome to you both-7 days-

We sure do Lulu.

How have you been doing?

Physically I've been feeling pretty good however I'm super lazy & eating like a horse. Mentally it has been challenging.

Now that I'm not hungover every morning I'm going to start an exercise routine with my total gym. I believe that will help with my energy levels.

Can I be a part of the Class of July 2013 even if it's only been 2 days of sobriety?

It took until day 4 to feel even human enough, or steady enough to leave the house. The insomnia was a killer too. I have attended 3 AA meetings to date. I am feeling better physically, and yes, am eating like a horse but am so tired. I spend a lot of time in bed reading and sleeping. I have to get some chores done tomorrow whether I want to or not! Do you have a recovery plan? Are you attending meetings?

The gym sounds like a great plan, I may just start by taking the dog for a walk

I hope everyone is going ok. I've been stringing days together but had a few bumps. Another sober night tonight though, it's funny, right now I feel so tired of alcohol and am sick of all the negative impacts it brings to my life.

Hoping to maintain this positive focus. Be well all!

LuLu and TNRobert..and SoberNewDad and Eleni.

I FINALLY MADE DAY 1!! I am convinced that the real beast is that first drink. Although yesterday was "antsy" I wasn't obsessed with the urge to drink. The obsession is the worst, I think. It is very good to wake up this morning sober.

Congratulations Dirk! So we are both on Day 2. You are on the other side of the world so I guess you are about to turn in for the night?
