09.25 Wed

Good morning Unders

I hope you’re all having a good day. It’s a lovely morning here, frosty and cold, but sunny and bright. Had a bit of nuisance drive to work though, birds had poo’d on my windscreen and I didn’t notice until I put the windscreen wipers on, oh what a mess, had to stop twice to clean it, it was like whitewash!

Look forward to seeing you in the ‘One year and under thread’ Babs.

I’m looking forward to seeing you there too Toots. Won’t be long now.

Very quiet here yet, I’ll go and catch up elsewhere and call back later.

Stay safe, clean and sober

Gxxx

Just for today I will be agreeable. I will look as well as I can, dress becomingly, talk low, act courteously, criticise not one bit, not find fault with anything and not try to improve or regulate anybody except myself.

Keep going everyone.

Don't look down and don't look behind you. The first thirty days are a tightrope walk. Keep your arms and hands out where you can see'em, keep your eye 100% on the goal, and take one ~only one~ step at a time.

Don't rush it. Don't question it. You're on the tightrope now and there's no place for such nonsense now. Be single-minded till you reach the goal!!

Good morning to all you under 30’s

Hi Babs, I hope all is well with you.

Morning Toots, not sure if you’re in work today, I am! Have a great day whatever it is you are doing.

See you all later

Gxx

Just for today I will have a programme. I may not follow it exactly, but I will have it. I will save myself from two pests; hurry and indecision.

Hello all you Conquerors!

I wanted to take a minute to remind you what quitting does for your self esteem.

The first months there were moments that the only reason I did not drink was because i was terrified of losing the positive self esteem I gained from having done something so difficult, (so seemingly impossible in fact.) It was the first thing I'd done in a long time that made me feel proud of myself.

I just couldnt bear to throw that feeling away. Some days it was all I had. (Or so it seemed.)

So don't throw your healing self esteem in the trash. Let it grow in the light of day. Don't drink, encourage others, and watch your self esteem blossom.

16.00 just a quick check in to see how it's going.

It's very quiet here today.

Babs I think E.Q inspires us all.

E.Q that is a wonderful post, thank you.

Johnny, it's good to see you posting here and offering your support.

WWG, I'm so proud of you, keep walking the walk.

Back later

Gxx

Hi all, this thread has gone really quiet lately, not sure where every one is but I still like to check in every now and then. WWG you are doing so well, I know it is a battle, but you are winning my friend.
I am 3 weeks today, and feeling good. No real temptations to test me, but now that I have hubby's total support, he kinda shields me from it by taking me places where drink isn't the biggest thing, even if it is around. Plus he wants to show solidarity until i am stronger, and is not drinking either( doesn't bother him either way)

When I get past today I will have 11 days, and tomorrow is a new record. I am a little worried I am doing so well. But, I know checking in on SR is helping. Thank you so much. Get the IPhone app if you don't have it.

WWG, That's terrific!!

But you are wise to be cautious. The Addictions voice waits till you are feeling like "Oh I got this" .... and then it rushes in and catches you with your guard down.

I am happy for your progress! And I want you to be! But just sayin' that staying alert for any thought of alcohol is paramount now. It lies in wait.
