Good Morning my Friends!
SBTS, that's AMAZING!!! Sooo happy for you!! Well done!!
Crazy warm weather & rain here in Northern Mich!! Very unusual for this time of year. Not good for the local ski resorts, but gives a brief feeling of Spring! Rain or no rain, think I might get out for some fresh air today. I love working from home, but it can definitely cause a bit (sometimes a lot) of cabin fever. Thinking about getting a second job, just part time. The extra income would be nice, but more importantly need to get out & stay active. Another change I need to make in order to help with staying sober. Boredom is definitely a trigger for me.
So far, so good with my husband. He's only been having a couple drinks in the evening...I know for those of us wanting to quit completely, that's a couple too many. But for him, it's a major improvement. I've been sticking with tea. Have fallen in love with Apple Cinnamon spice!! I actually find myself looking forward to it in the evening.
Everyone have a wonderful, safe & sober day!
Jaz

Well done Soberbythesea, you are doing brilliantly.
Thanks for that link Ozarkcowboy, I heard the phrase in this beautiful hymn sung by Johnny Cash.

You need to listen, that line is in there.
Have a great day everybody.

Yes, I did hear that line well91. Another good line from that song is "steel is strong because it knew the hammer and white heat". I'd have to say a lot of us have seen plenty of the "hammer and white heat" in our troubled times of our lives, and should be like "steel" today.
Thanks for the link, I love old gospel hymns. Many good messages found there.
Hope everyone had a good day, I did.

Hi classmates! Still here, still sober. Life has decided to kick me in the ass again but I'm facing and dealing with it on its terms instead of my own (which included drinking it all away, of course.)
My father is chronically ill and that has taken a big chunk of my energy along with some ridiculous mayhem at work. I am balancing it all and dealing with the stress without my old friend alcohol. It feels amazing to be doing that and I am so grateful for my sobriety.
Out at 4am tomorrow morning to the airport to head West for work trip. Not concerned about drinking and looking forward to a day/night in a beautiful hotel. Some work to be done but nice surroundings! I could do without the 6 hour flight but I have learned to take the very first flight out (no bars open at 6am!) and that really helps as airports and hotels are big triggers for me. But thanks to you guys I made it through my last trip sober while white knuckling during my first month so I am feeling good about this one.
I am looking forward to time to catch up here and also get some good rest without daily household chores to suck up evenings. So I will be seeing you all a bit more in the next few days
Congrats to all on keeping it sober and to those struggling, just keep fighting. It ain't over till it's over and we can never, ever give up.
Love you guys!!! PS - if anyone is in Santa Monica shoot me a PM. I have the meeting list for the area and will be hitting up one or two if my schedule allows. Also available for coffee or something
Later peeps!

Good morning! I do look forward to the day my AV is completely silent. It was loud last night!
IWW, sending prayers for you and your dad. Stay strong. Santa Monica sounds glorious right now! I have not yet embraced AA yet, but if I happened to be in that area, I would go to my first to meet you. Have a great trip.

IWW, sorry to hear that about your dad. Well done on dealing with it without alcohol.
3 months today, just went and picked up my chip at a meeting. Feels like the longest and shortest 3 months of my life!
Hope you're all having a good day.
