Class of June 2011 part 12
Thats great news Debbie pleased you are on the mend. I have been on a cycle tour and did quite well in keeping up. I am now back at work and thinking there has to be more to life than work. It is great to have enough mental space and emotional energy to be able to plan activities and other things for the future
Hey Jim im doing fine thanks. I do suffer a little with the winter blues but feels like its the tail end of it now and its getting darker later and my mood usually improves with the extra daylight.
Had some snow here a couple of weeks ago that was very disruptive and scary to get to work in but all gone now and hoping it will stay away.
Even though this is my second year of sobriety I still feel I am getting used to things I think the first year was just like wow to everything and now I am starting to learn about who I am and all that malarkey. I want to explore more into meditation as I realise part of my mind is still in a bit of a rut but overall its been an amazing journey and life is 200% better even on bad days than those dark days before I put it down.
Lovely to hear from you x

Just had the most lovely message from a lady who told me she had followed my posts as she identified with me alot and now she is doing really well with the help of AA. Such a lovely thing to wake up to. Made me think I should be more active in here as I only really post in this thread now and then, it clearly does help to pass on the message.
My depression has been causing me some problems again but I am sober and happy today and SR helped me so much in the early days I am extremely grateful.
Hope others are doing ok.

Hey Pumpkin. Good to hear from you. I am travelling well. Still really catching up from years of not really living. Tomorrow I am going on a group ride through the hills. It will be 85 or 110 km depending on the weather. It is amazing I can now stuff like this.
I hope your mood improves.
It is great that SR can give help and hope to so many.

Wow!
2 years sober!.... I am happy to make this post. I haven't been on here as much and none of the people I knew then are recent I see (except Artemus )
So, Thank you Sober Recovery for the support I needed when I needed it. Hope to report back next year and the year after!

June 13, 2011 was the day I decided to quit drinking. It was after this weekend and the F1 race in Montreal when I had gotten stupid drunk and very nearly made a huge a$$ of myself in front of colleagues and bosses alike. I think my last drink was at about this time on the Sunday.
It's been a great two years.

TP congratulations on your time. You too Jeff. Life's good when we stop poisoning ourselves.
I enjoy bike riding but a 120km day is enough for me. It is amazing given that i had not riden for five years or before i stopped drinking. It was all behind me. Now i ride regularly although it is fairly casual. I have also started playing in a band.

I noodle on guitar from time to time but have noticed that I've played a lot more and improved a great deal in my two sober years.
