Members with less than 2 weeks Welcome-Part 14
Hey Cedar--I agree with Dee that the absolute best thing is to be totally honest with your doctor. If he/she "fires" you, find another doc who specializes in addiction treatment. Take care of you! You deserve it.
Hard to believe it, folks, but I am now at day 13! Don't know if I will even have time to post tomorrow because I have a full day of work and then dinner and a Christmas choral concert in the evening. Hard to believe that two weeks ago I didn't think I could do any of those things without getting high first.
You know, the world works in mysterious ways. It just so happened that I ran out of pot on the same day that I got the email from my new boss that I would have to pass a drug test. If I had called her immediately and found out she wasn't going to test me right away, I likely wouldn't have had the motivation to stay clean for the weekend. (Would have smoked some resin or dug through my seeds for some nuggets or something.) If I had decided not to come clean to her and just told her I couldn't accept the position, I would be stoned right now--and still unemployed. If I had tried to beat the drug test, I might have been found out and would still be stoned. As it was, I chose to quit and was honest with my boss and now I have almost two weeks clean and the best job I have ever had!
Thanks so much to all of you for being here. Together, we can do anything!!!
Love and hugs to all and congrats to the latest graduates!!!

Yep, all, it's true. I now have TWO WEEKS clean and sober! I can't believe it. I don't really want to leave this thread, though. Can I hang out for a while? I want to see the rest of you graduate too!!
I think I need to spend some more time up in the Newcomers forum. Pay it forward, folks. It helps keep you straight!
Love and hugs to you all. I'm heading off to a totally natural, un-aided night of sleep. God bless!!

Well done Lulu70 - graduated, you must be proud!
mrsfray - 4days!!! Great!
irish1981 - 11 days! Keep going!
cedar608 - you're doing extremely well - keep strong.
Zuri - thanks for checking on the group!
This "members with less than two weeks" must be similar to the army recruit camp - their first 2 weeks must be where the hard yards are done, the mental and physical exercise, the good times the bad times the low times but then after a few months, graduation! The sun is shining and it's about achievement! Here, it's about getting to 14 days clean.
Again, cedar608, coop1, Dee74, CarolD and everyone else in this thread, thanks for the support.
Rosco.

Hi Guys
I'm also hoping your brother is okay, irish1981.
Well, as I mentioned in the "Class of November 2010" group, I'm graduating today - 14 days, and I'm singing
Happy Christmas (War is Over) John Lennon
So this is Christmas and what have you done
Another year over and a new one just begun
Ans so this is Christmas I hope you have fun
The near and the dear one the old and the young
...........
War is over over 'CAUSE IM SOBER
War is over
It's just a nice reinforcement! And I bet some of you will hear this song played over christmas and say ""Because I'm Sober"!!! (replace "if you want it"). It's symbolic I guess - there is a youtube that shows a guy spending 5 minutes putting all his wine glasses in the trash /bin. Symbolic and a statement.
I'll keep posting here to keep the morale and spirits up! As coop1 says "keep stacking up the days"!
Cedar608 - I hope it went well with your doctor's visit yesterday. I've just finished reading "High on Arrival" by Mackenzie Phillips (daughter of John Phillips of the Mamas and Papas). She was on massive amounts of pain killers but when she finally came off them, there was no pain (and she was on crutches for a while before coming off). This may be totally irrelevant but just thought I pass it on.
Kernie, is that a new avatar you have there, something to do with horses?
Off to get photos now for the graduation. Hair, tick, uniform, tick, sparkling mineral water and fresh lime, tick, smile, tick.
Rosco.
