Teach, thanks for the clarification. Hmmm. "Old principal I worked for...really good man...he's in upper administration now; central offices." Perhaps a good networking contact for the future?
Fandy, is your soulmate doggie home? Since Pookie wants to remain the baby-boy, safe to assume that cigars for new doggie should be blue?
Positive vibes going out for fellow whiners who are down or sick. whiners are winners and we stick together like glue!
Or in our case, like gum, right, SD??
Am headin' up to the Lakes Region to help my friend finish opening up the cabin. I'll take some newer pics, but here's an older one from the deck:
You grab a line and I'll grab a pole and we'll head down to the fishin' hole!
Have a wonderful weekend, fellow whiners!

wow, i can't keep up with this thread...it is moving so fast!
teach, you get the weekly award for the most proficient whines....i am so sorry you have to through such BS, BS, BS every work day. it would be enough to make me move out of state!
the little doggie is a female, about 1 year old...she is a yorkie/chihuahua mix...after she goes to the rescue groups vet and gets spayed i'll take her home in a couple of weeks. but we will do our first interview tomorrow, then a home visit. I have to get a crate and all the dog accessories too, food, dishes and decide how to do feeding without everyone eating everyone elses food.
she is used to being crated at night in a bedroom and while the foster mom is out too...very good about her potty habits, but to be sure this is what i'll follow until I know she is ok to have the run of the house....I have a big florida room with a 12 foot sliding glass door that has a nice view of the backyard and woods...that would be a good spot to put the crate.
i have a lot of chores to do today, both inside and out....back later.

DANG! i can't copy the picture of my beautiful new roommate....the man of my dreams is a dogfriend....I met my little friend today, he is a beautiful little fuzzy boy...affectionate, not yappy and very energetic...he walks quite well and needs to be in a situation like mine...he will be the only dog in the house and be very happy....i need to find a decent priced crate...any suggestions will be welcome.
i am arranging for a network of my animal caretakers to do a spot check while i am at work....(mr. Fandy and i used to travel a lot and we had in home cat caretakers....now they will be dog-walkers too)...it's a good job for what I ask and i pay well...to me it is worth it rather than come home to a disaster and upset animals.
so i don't get to whine today...but i did get to have a nice day for a change, and buy a fancy collar and leash, treats and some food....and i will feed this little dog roasted chicken and kibble every day too....he will have the best home and be as loved and spoiled as my kitties....and certainly I am responsible for him, so we will both get out and about, get exercise and stay sober!
and it will be just a bit easier to deal with my mother who is now so advanced in her dementia she makes me want to drink and Mr. Fandy who is a giantchildish, stupid-jerk a-hole.....but it won't matter as much.
i hope you all had a decent day too.....and i will post more tomorrow. Ozzy....hope your BIL is getting some happy moments.....my own brother suffered a terrible bout with parotid cancer (adenoid cystic carcenoma) which has a 10 year survival rate of less than 25%...3 years later after much aggrresive treatment, he is in total remission....a miracle in itself.

W.A. Glue
fands, how's Mr Stupid-Jerk A-Hole tonight?

Fandy, that's lovely - we can't wait to see your new man. Having a dog helped me get & stay sober because I didn't want to let her down. She deserved an energetic person to love her. I know this will be a good thing for you - and the doggie is very lucky.

Got a phone call bright and early this morning -- well, about 9 AM.
Trevor is HOME!!!
He's out of jail, and home again.
I picked him up,
we went to breakfast,
then, did a bit of shopping,
went home, and did a few things there.
His dad came over.
I made a beautiful dinner.
It was a nice time.
He's in bed right now.
Making plans for work and housing.
Got phone numbers for him.
And, with G*D's help,
he'll be on his way...
It was a really good day.
I needed it.
Shalom!

Teach, I'm glad for your good day. After the mess at school, you really deserved a good day.
I am currently irritated with several people who say "you are important to me," but their behaivor sends the message "well, you're not THAT important." Was hurt about it, now am mad about it...and trying not to be passsive aggressive in my handling of the situation. Perhaps it is best to leave it alone until the anger piece runs it's course. So, I am holed up with my computer posting on SR, wrapped in a fuzzy blanket. The blanket, funnily enough, has a warning tag that says not to iron it. Who irons blankets?
