no holiday here....next Monday is Memorial Day...i am looking forward to a long weekend already! it is cool and rainy here, i'm tucked away at work for afew hours, theen off to my mothers house to sell more *stuff*. i'm still in a good mood.
I looked in the mirror this morning and was pleasantly surprised by my appearance....clear skin, eyes, no redness, no puffy face, steady hands even after 4 cups of high octane coffee! my sugar cravings are way down too. I even laugh and smile some days.

Ann, you're right about today being beautiful. I've been out for at least one walk so far. It's only slightly on the hot side, around 80F. (For people who like to be able to convert without a calculator, it's: Temperature [27C] X 1.8 + 32= 80F . I am one of the Canadians who only "knows" Celsius and metric here and there.) Nature has been quite kind to us in this area for this year's Vic Day weekend. Best spring I have seen in a long time. This is not very whiny.
Hiya whiners.
I had such a nice weekend...that is to say.... up to the very end of it. (not to worry whiners...I'll eventually get around to sharing the whiney part)
Mr and I had the very _best_ 'breakfast out' ever on Sat am and then had a nice visit out of town with the inlaws at their house and later on they took us out for lunch. Foodwise and fun wise it was a top notch day.
FIL has a service dog who just adores mr cmc--she's trained for people who have his type of disability. Not having pets of our own, we soak it up whenever we are able enjoy someone else's fur-friend. I also got to roam around the 'hood' in the golfcart with my MIL which is always fun. We found a wild red mulberry tree in the brush, but stayed mostly on the road.
So after an almost perfect WE....I still don't know HOW I managed to do this but when I was bending over to turn off the hose near my front door....holding the special multi type spray nozzzle....I accidently hit the handle. It was set on the highest/hardest setting 'jet' and it got me in the eye. (don't worry I'm okay now)
It hurt so bad....and I could not see at all. I reached out patting the wall and door to find the doornob and once I got inside I totally 'lost it' screaming, crying & yelling for mr and daughter to come help me. It was all quite dramatic and very whiny-ish. (takes a bow)
Ugh...I'm still sore this morning but the eyeball seems fine. Sheesh. Why me??
here's newest fav WA slogan:
When you least expect it: whines happen.
btw & fyi
psst Queenie:
Using the wrong side drumset makes the badda-boom go boomda- badda.

Famous line from the movie "A Christmas Story"....."you'll put your eye out"!
I have often jabbed myself in the eye with a mascara wand...QUITE painful too.
glad you are OK...I am fighting with one of my printers at work...it will NOT obey my commands.....so i am using the color printer for everything...NOW i have to change the toners....and can't find what I need!!!!

Stupid people!!! Had to drop off a lab specimen from doctor's office. Lab lady asked me if I were her mother. I said yes. Two minutes later "are you her mother?" Yes. Two minutes later, "are you her mom?" HOW MANY TIMES DO I HAVE TO SAY IT!!! Yes, I'm STILL her mom!! Then asked for the insurance card. "I don't have it". Two minutes later, "so you don't have the insurance card?" NO I DON'T HAVE THE FREAKIN' CARD!!!
ParentRecovers :ghug3
CMC, that eye thing sounds nasty and scary, I'm glad you're okay.
Tomorrow I have scheduled the "new do".
Fabulous day here, hot and sunny with light breeze off the water.

Dang thanks button...I hit it...it vanishes...and my name does not appear! Consider this post to be my thanks to all the posts before that I have not thanked.
I bought some new shirts, put them in the wash, and there's gunk all over them! There must be some grimy stuff in the washer that I can't see. How the heck can a washer get dirty!

There's no place like [whiner] home. Only one syllable can describe my weekend...Aaaahhhh.
Ozzy, you silly...If you slept like a log cuz you were in the fireplace and were still dreaming you were a marshmallow, you'd look like this:
CmC - *love* the whine happens slogan! Was that one of my relatives I saw polinating in public on your new avi? LOL.
Ann/Zip/Fandy - sounds like it was $ales du jour all around! woo hoo!
Congrats on the new addition to your family, Fands. Name?
Hevyn, kids...they grow up so fast don't they? Pretty soon they'll be asking to borrow the car. LOL.
SD - I know I'm catching up here, but wanted to say that it really is true, "actions speak louder than words." When something like that happens to me, before I respond I always ask, What's my motivation? If it's to hurt the person like they hurt me, I know it's not a good response. As long as I'm assertive, not aggressive, and maintain my integrity while also letting the other person(s) know that I won't tolerate xyz, I'm okay. Hope it worked out for you.
Least, how did things work out with foster doggie? You've been in my prayers.
Teach, don't know who Trevor is, but you sounded so happy - that made me happy. you were well overdue for some good stuff.
Nice to meet you both, Desert2trees and KK!
Dee, there's *got* to be a good story behind that windex and KK.
I made some popcorn - let me know when it's story time...remember, I live near the real StoryLand.
