Bam, whew, eh? Interviews are always good practice - I agree with Ann that you'll land where you're meant to be and at just the right time.

Oz, love the doo - bangs are short enough to show off those soon-to-be uni-brows.

Fandy, meant to comment that Fandy-cat could be doing worse things than hiding the remote by sitting on it:

Reminds me of days gone by with my old boyfriend .... I sure do miss
that chair.

Whine #1
This thread moves TOO fast!!!
I can't keep up anymore.... waaaaaaaa......

I stopped cutting my hair.
I am just letting it grow out long again.
A bun is a good look for a school teacher,
don'tcha think?

I've lost @ 40 pounds since last summer by doing the nutritionist thing -- most the time. Except, of course, when I cheat and go to the chinese buffet! LOL! And ohhhh, do I pay for doing that! My body does not like me over eating at all anymore!
But, here's whine #2
People see my face and keep saying I've "lost enough weight."
Well, NOOOOOO.......
My face, (and my boobs), lose weight first.
My arse and my thieghs are still HUGH!
And I'm *still* overweight!
(And not *just* according to the doctor's weight list either!)
The size of my clothing is proof of the pudding
for anyone who would have the need to know!
Why don't they look past my face???

Anywho,
There's a major problem at work,
And I'm very, very worried about it.
It's about the guy I'm covering for.
And I do believe that there's a real set up going on!

I wrote to the union tonight - in COMPLETE confidentiality.
I don't like what's happening.
The teacher leader is totally PARANOID!
We found an article that is "supposed" to have been stolen - by him.
And she won't say a thing....she said she saw "nothing."
Because, she "can't afford to be where he's at now."
Which is one step before being fired....

And I also found out earlier today that TEN other people
*besides* my friend who killed herself
have been fired
for equally dubious reasons!!! :>(

I gotta get OUTTA THERE!!!

And I'm going to bed...
Good night, whiners.
Hope I can sleep.... :>(

Shalom!

Teach, this got my attention.

A very similar thing happened to my BIL (in MA). He was a manager of house keeping at a nursing home. Was there for 4 years, got great reviews, etc.

One day, he found a notebook in the parking lot and gave it to his supervisor. Later that week, he was accused of stealing said notebook and was fired for it.

This notebook had nobody's name on it and it contained child-like doodle drawings inside - that's it - no notes - no nothing. The supervisor claimed it belonged to one of my BIL's co-workers and he was let go for "stealing confidential information."

Similar accusations were made against other workers after my BIL's incident and they were also fired.

Through solid determination and sheer pissed-off-ed-ness (new word?), my BIL contacted the other workers; they all got together and compared notes and developed a timeline of events.

A formal complaint was filed against the nursing home and their case goes to court next month. It's become a big broo-ha-ha...

The sheer volume of people being fired at your school is extemely high. Your friend's suicide was beyond shocking (I don't know if that was due to her ex or what - either way, it's such a tragedy) and the ten other people who were fired sounds very suspicious.

Pls keep us posted on what the union says and of course, make copies of everything.

Love, HB

Dang, teach...and I thought my old job was bad. And if you get out of there I hope it's on your own terms...and not by someone else's foolery.

Teach, I've worked at places where a lot of people are getting fired over weird or unknown stuff and it's kinda a scary feeling. I hated the wondering if evidence was being gathered so I could get axed next. I hope you find something else or the craziness calms down because your current situation does not sound happy.

I was never a fan of the Gomer Pyle episodes because he is so awkward. Apparently, I have a limited tolorence for awkward.

Speaking of, the awkward moment I reported in the last thread was brought to a successful conclusion! I talked to my friend about the me-walking-into-her-house-to-get-her-mail-key-to-check-the-mail-and-it-turns-out-she-and-her-hubby-were-back-early-from-vacation-incident and she said they were dead asleep because they had been driving all day and she thinks she may have heard the front door close when I left, but she went right back to sleep. I was glad to know I hadn't scared them!

No new whines. Today was pretty good (yippee!). And I was privileged to eat one of the most amazing cupcakes in the whole world.

Can't sleep...bad mood swings. I would like to blame it on my montly...fighting urge to be discriptive...

Need to go clothes shopping but don't feel like it. Yes. I hate shopping! Nothing ever fits! I must have an awkward body! And pants are the worst. I'm a somewhat large person...and it burns me that clothing makers 'think' that the 'appropriate size challenged' are all at least 6 feet tall! I'm wide...not tall! I know...lose weight and that won't be a problem...but I need clothes now...not two years down the road.

And not all big women have huge boobs! I'd have to stuff a couple of melons down most of the big girl shirts in order for 'em to fit. Gah.
