Today, I had a skin biopsy done on my nose. I am grateful that it went well and was quick and fairly painless. I am probably going to have to have surgery because it looks like a carcinoma. I am also grateful that I went ahead and dealt with this because, like they say, early detection is key.

And grateful that our NA area's Public Information vice-chair called me today to remind me of some things that need to be done before our poster drive on Saturday. They had totally slipped my mind. I probably won't be able to attend the drive myself because I'll be on call, but I do have some responsibilities in getting ready. I'm so glad to be of service today!

Thank you, Richie!! It's almost funny. My mom apparently has the same thing on her nose, too, so we'll most likely be having twin surgeries. And my dad recently had a carcinoma removed from his neck by the same doctor I'm seeing. Guess it's in the genes, huh? Not to mention all the tanning, which has come to a screeching halt for me.

I am grateful this morning for a good workout with my trainer. I almost didn't get up in time, but I made it and I'm so glad.

Hi Everybody!
I am grateful this morning that I am not on methadone anymore. It is hot outside; 100F and when I was on methadone the heat was unbearable and I sweat all the time. It is much more bearable now. I don't drip sweat anymore. I know, I know... gross but I am still grateful.
Eddie, I hope you are going to be careful about all that tanning now!!!!!! My Mom had a malignant melanoma when I was little and it was very scary. I stay out of the sun all the time and use sunscreen. Pale can be beautiful too. I am worried about you. I will keep your nose in my prayers.

The Effexor I'm on makes me drip sweat all the time, too, so I know what you mean, L. I haven't totally made a decision about the tanning. I'm pretty addicted to the way it makes me feel, not so much the tan itself. I am going to have some laser hair removal done and those areas can't be tan, but I'm thinking of wearing shorts in the tanning bed. I don't know. The tanning bed is also my prayer time and just good relaxing me-time. Maybe when the biopsy results come back positive, I'll decide to quit. We'll see.

I am grateful finally being home after a LONG day. We were short of pharmacists again today and then after work, I had to drive out of town for the pharmacists' meeting. I just got home a few minutes ago.

I am grateful that the dentist can see me tomorrow. I've been taking antibiotics for about 5 days now, but the swelling and pain have not gone down. I was afraid they weren't going to see me since I'm not an established patient, but they said they'd work me in.

Have to hit the sack now.

Well, I like the new dentist, but they couldn't figure out exactly what is wrong with my mouth. Fortunately, it is not bothering me too much. I'm grateful for that.

Also grateful that I caught the fact early that I have skin cancer. I will be having some surgery in a few weeks and that should take care of it. I'm glad that I am taking care of myself today.

I am grateful that I am up early and that it is cool out. We have been in the middle of a heat wave. Yesterday it was 107F.
Grateful that I cleaned my house yesterday. It is nice to wake up to a clean house.

Yes, the surgery will be on my nose. The doctor said the thing is in a good place, so I shouldn't have to much scarring. Plus he's a really good surgeon. He took a carcinoma like mine off my dad's neck and hid the scar neatly in a natural crease.

I am grateful tonight to be back in touch with lurkings, scribbler, and jazpoppy all in one week!! Now if only skissors6 would turn up. I am worried about scribbler, though. She is very depressed. Please remember her in your prayers, people!

I'm also grateful that my dahlias are budding. I'll be cutting them and posting photos before you know it. Whoo-hoo!!
