Hev, I beg to differ. You ARE a great person. You may also be a work in progress but the two are not mutually exclusive in my view.
CBS, the weight bench is a Christmas gift for my son. It’s a cheap piece of junk but the theory we are going on is we’ll see if he actually uses it before upgrading. I’ll probably just get stuff used if he does keep going with it. Gotta get out of the assembly game as much as I can
Sam, glad to see you back!
free, sorry about the root canal.

Grateful my daughter got her pointe shoes yesterday. And she got loads of compliments…on her feet! Those ballet folks are pretty into feet and I guess her bendy feet are cool. But made for a hard time finding the right pair. She tried on at least 25 pairs!
Grateful for the patient teacher and staff of the store.
Grateful for local stores that specialize in things that would be really impossible to do online.
Grateful for my daughter’s 12th bday today, although I feel pretty unprepared since I’ve spent so much other time prepping her room, prepping for her first party, coordinating for her second one, etc. She’s just going to get some money in an envelope from me I guess.
Grateful for a lovely sunrise.
Grateful my anxiety dreams (one about having all my wheels, purse etc. stolen from my car while I was messing around trying to save some hibernating animals and still being with my ex but not able to get help from him; and one about serious harm to my son) are not reality.
Grateful the kids (finally!!) go back to school tomorrow.
Grateful for all of you.

Grateful the POD with Mr. A's workshop tools was delivered this morning and that I am a morning person. It was supposed to be delivered between 7-10 am so I got up around 5am to get some things done and the POD guy called and said he would be there at 630am, I was able to get there in time to meet him and let him know where to put it.
Grateful we got one room painted, it will need a second coat. All that cutting in took Mr. A a long time and while he was doing that I was doing more raking
Grateful I slept fairly well

NL - Thank you so much.
Alpine - Since moving to New York (from Delaware) 11 yrs ago,I've noticed people are early risers. 5:00am used to seem like the middle of the night to me! Good thing you were prepared for the delivery.
Grateful to actually be here in the morning
Grateful for my plans to eat healthier - beginning next week, now that all the holiday junk has been eaten.
Grateful there might be a bit more sun this afternoon.
Grateful for you all, every day.

NL, happy 12 to your ballerina daughter 🩰
FBL, I love your steady Monday post ♥️
Hev, I’ll do this with you on healthier eating. I suppose this means I can’t eat the Blue Bunny ice cream I bought yesterday?🍦
Alpine, I’m so happy you have a new home. It’s so exciting 🏡

Grateful for seven hours of sleep
Grayeful I have an anti anxiety med for the root canal, I am so nervous. Ive had nightmares with those things
Grateful for coffee
Grateful I live in an amazing place

Just realized if you turn the page before posting, you can’t go back/draft doesn’t save. So I lost comments to a few of you
Free, thinking of you today! Soon it will all be over. Really glad you got some meds
Numblady, good luck with back to school. Sonny boy went back last week
Grateful the roof leak is still holding in all this rain. Keeping fingers crossed the problem is figured out. If this is the problem, the contractor said he will not charge us a dime. Original estimated was 4.5k. We will still have to have the interior frame and wall board rebuilt. Grateful to question things and listen to my instincts when they don’t appear to make sense at first
Grateful for no landsliding in the neighborhood
Grateful I’m not driving anywhere today
Grateful for a break in the rain yesterday, to have lunch with a close friend and walk downtown. Grateful sonny boy got out for basketball with friends
Grateful for each one of you. You are very very special to me!

Hevyn, holy cow, compared to where I moved back from NY people are not early risers at all. LOL. It is way slower here and more relaxed.
Free, thanks! It will be a few months before we move in, but it is so close.

Fearless, I too was glad of the break in the rain yesterday! I managed to go paddleboarding (between the rain and the high tide, the water level was very high!) and take a walk. We have so much rain forecasted, I'm grabbing every chance to get outdoors.
Grateful to be reconnecting with my employer today. I'm going to do a couple of very small projects, very few hours, I wouldn't even call it part time. But it will be good to exercise my skills a little and earn a bit of spending money.
Grateful my other stepson (the one without kids) is updating me with photos and stories during his travels overseas. I'm glad he wants to connect.
Grateful that during my walk yesterday, I ran into a friend I had not seen for a few months.
Grateful for a couple of zoom meetings yesterday that provided the opportunity for connection. As an introvert, I rarely craved company in the past, but covid has really made me appreciate connection.
Grateful for you all.

Getting here late do to work and a root canal.
THANKS to all of you for your posts.
NL that was quite a dream/nightmare you had. Glad it was just that.
Alpine I am glad you got good sleep.
Hev I am trying to make a few changes in my diet too. Mostly to eat less meat and sugar.
Turs it is so great that you and your step kids have a close relationship. Probably therapeutic for all of you.

Grateful the root canal is done in one appointment this time. Hoping that is it for a long time with dental procedures!!!!! Please send healing vibes/thoughts/prayers that I do not develop an infection.
Grateful for Dental Insurance.
Grateful for my sobriety.
Grateful for my new Ayurvedic tea.
Grateful for SR and the GP.

Grateful I’m back after having no ambition for quite a few days. I’ve been lazy and feeling deja vu. My son’s X and Gdaughter’s mom contacted me. She is in town and very Ill from drinking. I’m hoping she gets help again and stays safe. It’s up to God.
Alpine that is exciting to be busy fixing up your new home. It always seemed to me that East Coast people stayed up awfully late.
Grateful to be awake very early myself today.
I was bragging about eating healthy awhile back and have slid back on sweets. I don’t eat a lot of meat but carbs and candy are a weakness. It is hard to eat healthy in my daughter’s environment. I did better when living alone.
Grateful for Gson’s help with a printer problem.
Always grateful for the kitten’s company.
Grateful for the new Women’s weekly meeting. I hope to make new friends. I’m an introvert but would like some non drinking adult company.
Grateful for SR.

Grateful we got part of the POD with Mr. A's workshop things unloaded
Grateful Mr. A saw one of the sets of placemats and pot holders I made in the basement and really liked it
Grateful for the little bit of sun we got yesterday
Grateful for my calm demeanor when dealing with a few tricky situations.

Oh CBS, I’m sorry you had a root canal too. I thought I saw that and then I thought I must have made it up and it was Free who had one. But turns out both of you are having that special experience this week. Sorry for both of you.
least, glad you are getting some relief. Hope that continues.
Fearless, glad the roof is holding so far. I was super relieved that when my friend came over he said he didn’t see anything obviously wrong on my roof. There is one place where I probably have an issue but around the chimney he thinks it probably just needs to be recaulked. I mean, there may still be bigger issues but it was a relief he didn’t see anything hugely alarming right off the bat.
Turs and Fearless, stay safe in all the rains!
Alpine, congrats on the one coat of paint. After my recent experience, I would say that’s a definite accomplishment.

Grateful for the return to school today although it is going to mean hectic mornings.
Grateful my boss met with me and quelled some of my fears around whether I am contributing what I should to the org.
Grateful to know my daughter isn’t going to keep sleeping in my room for eternity. At some point it has to end. Right?? And then I’ll wish she wanted to sleep in there?
Grateful for my ten dollar Marshall’s planner. I miss my fancy expensive planner on some level but this bargain version is working pretty well all things considered.
Grateful my daughter felt showered with birthday wishes yesterday—eventually. When she first woke up she said no one had said happy bday to her except me and one friend.
Grateful I may be able to sneak in a quick cat nap. Crappy night of sleep and awake at 4:30.
Grateful for coffee.
Grateful for this group.

Thinking of you both CBS and Free!
Turps, that’s awesome you got out for a paddle board
Numblady, glad your roof is ok. Story on the news here this morning about a roof in SF blown off in the wind. Crazy! Happy bday to your daughter!
Grateful the fence is still standing and no trees smashed I to the house
Grateful sonny boy seems in a slightly better mood this morning. Not sure what was up yesterday. He was a bear all day since getting home from school. Such a rollercoaster, this teen ride!
Grateful to hopefully take a nap later - woke up at 2:30 so I’m with you NL on the lack of sleep
Grateful for this wonderful group of friends in the computer. Hi least!

As a veteran of many root canals, I feel for you CBS and Free! Hope the healing is uneventful. Those are not fun.
Fearless, glad your fence and trees are holding in this ongoing stormy weather.
NL, glad your roof is ok and sorry about the early morning awakening. That's rough, when you start the day knowing you'll be tired all day!
Least, glad you found relief.
Hevyn, I'll make a pact with you on the healthy eating. I finished the last bit of chocolate yesterday (sugar-free, but I'm not sure how virtuous that is when I eat an entire bar every day). Trying to turn the page on healthy eating this year.
Alpine, glad you were able to be calm during the tricky stuff.
Grateful for my neighbor raking the leaves out of the storm drain in front of my house, early this morning as I was waking up.
Grateful to have a bit of work to do for my employer and my volunteer job ... keeps me from wasting the morning surfing the web.
Grateful for a good night's sleep.
Grateful my home is dry.
Grateful I *think* I saw Cedar Waxwings while birdwatching from my window this morning, in the trees a couple blocks away.

(I had an oopsie - posted too soon & it made no sense. )
Anyway - Free I hope the canal went OK. And - I hereby proclaim Blue Bunny is exempt from the healthier eating plan.
CBS - How is your mouth today? Yes - less meat & sugar for me, too - and I suppose less carbs.
Tursiops - I still have one large bar left - but it's dark chocolate so it's not quite as sugary. We have zero birds right now - don't know what's going on - may be the huge Hawk lurking around is a deterrent.
Imv - I hope your son's ex will come to realize she can't sustain that lifestyle.
NL - Hoping the return to school flows smoothly. Ha.
Grateful for each and every post.
Grateful for less news, more laughter.
Grateful to be feeling better after weeks of cold/flu or whatever it was (not covid).
Grateful we're doing the best we can, & getting quite good at it.

IMV I am glad you got some tech help from your grandson. When my son was home for Christmas he fixed our surround sound that I could not figure out how to hook up to our new TV. We were just using the TV speaker which was very poor quality.
Fearless and Turs glad you are still fairing well with all the CA storms. Hope you stay safe and dry.
NL I hope you get some longer sleep tonight.
Alpine glad you were able to stay calm in your tricky situations.

Grateful for my sobriety.
Grateful I am so far tolerating the pain in my mouth from yesterday. I have only taken a few Tylenol. Now I have to decide if I should take an antibiotic like my Endodontist suggested as a preventative. Last time I had a root canal and took antibiotics and lots of Advil and Tylenol I developed Diverticulitis. And there some of my health care people that think there is a connection because the pain meds and antibiotic ruined my gut biome. I really don't want another case of Diverticulitis ! I am talking with my naturopathic doc about it. Ugh. I have to decide soon.
Grateful that we are going to the beach Friday.
Grateful for work from home.
Grateful for all of you.

Imval btw glad to see you back.
FBL I’m with Free on loving the steady Monday post.
CBS hope the naturopathic doc can shed some light on what is a very tough decision!

Grateful (??) I went back to sleep after a 4:15 a.m. wake up. I think I’ll ultimately be less tired but I am so out of it right now.
Grateful my latest anxiety dream is also not a reality (walking along a dimly lit highway first with no means of really getting off the road, then being more off the busy part but surrounded by various animals — mares separated from their foals, a dying deer, a very not timid rat, a couple of wolves, birds, just a whole creepy menagerie of slightly or very upset animals).
Grateful I can take my son to the eye specialist today and that he’s not an itty bitty person we ultimately had to kind of hold down to get eye drops in.
Grateful my son wanted to go get a soccer ball last night. It was nice to spend time together with him not yelling at video games. He was still kind of obnoxious (likes to make jokes about women…like all the time; it’s about all he talks about with me so it gets, um, a bit old).
Grateful for my big “You Rock” coffee mug from a long ago employee.
Grateful I’ve got one lunch made; just one to go.
Grateful our friends in CA are dry so far.
Grateful for each and every one of you.
