Grateful for a huge New Year's morning yoga practice with four awesome teachers. The vibe was great. Glad I'm starting the year off right.

And grateful most of the traditional New Year's dinner I put on for my mother and brother went well, and when it went South for a bit due to my bro's behavior, I at least didn't make things worse. Glad I am better at biting my tongue.

Grateful for my first kirtan (bhakti yoga chanting) event. I LOVED it! Glad it was further encouragement to join the choir at Unity.

And grateful for the awareness of how hard and fast my character defects can pop back up. Someone interrupted my share in a phone meeting today saying I was "cross-talking." I ran through a whole gamut of emotions in a few minutes, but, in the end, I was grateful and later told the person who said it how it actually helped me even though she had called to apologize. Glad I'm getting better at quickie 4th Steps.

Grateful I could take Dad to Happy Hour at the assisted living facility. Shrimp cocktails, eggrolls, and his favorite vodka drink. I'm grateful he smiled. My love and tolerance isn't very high but I'm grateful when he's happy.
