Today, I just got out of inpatient rehab. It was a 2 week program, but I am grateful to have been alive to part take in the much needed experience. Today, I learned that a former co-worker, a heavy duty alcoholic, passed away at the age of 37. Reading that honestly scared the s*** out of me because that could easily be me if I continue down the same prior road. I am thankful to have a shot at recovery today and to be home with my family and enjoying the quality and sober time with them.
