Grateful I no longer drink two drinks on the way home from work (guy next to me had 3 beers in 1 hour). Grateful that instead I had a Magnolia Bakery Brownie and a cup of coffee!

Grateful for pleasant sleepiness right now. Grateful that I am (still) learning how to let go of the things that I can't control and which will only upset me. Grateful that I can go to bed tonight with a sense of security about tomorrow.

Grateful for this place - it's a lifesaver to me. Grateful to be starting my 4th weekend without booze.

It's a lifesaver to me too. Congrats on your fourth booze-free weekend!

Tonight I'm grateful for an easy lazy day. Grateful for a good long dog walk. Grateful that 'the guy' is finally coming to fix the bedroom door! Grateful for a bit of extra money to get me by. Grateful to see a friend from my vet's at the store. Grateful for her church (and my friend) who are giving away free turkeys for Tgiving to those who could not otherwise afford one. Thankful for kindness...

Grateful for my whole family pulling together afternoon after school and completed a two hour crazy cleaning frenzy. WOW, did we get a lot done. It is a great way to go into the weekend. My daughter is having a birthday party tomorrow... and my other daughter is going to a birthday party. I am so looking forward to them knowing I will be sober.

Have a great evening.

Grateful for a walk along the shore with the dogs and running into friends.

Grateful for making plans to see Harry Potter next week with friends...I watched the last one drunk.

I'm grateful to be going to bed with a sore throat and ringing ears; having just got home from seeing Metallica!!! AWESOME!!! And I was sober and will remember this concert as something special. Even if I do feel a bit old having seen them back in 1985...it's like we've grown older together, they'll have been together 30 years next year...

Today I am grateful that I am in control of my life, and that drugs no longer control me. I am also grateful for so many other things, but giving up the pain pills was a struggle. They took control over my life, and I didn't feel good about it. I will have 6 years off of opiates in May. I remember always worrying about arguing with the pharmacist over my pills. They were always gone before they should have been. Thankfully I never had to buy them on the street. But, they caused so many problems, and stress for me. Today I am grateful to be totally free from that.

Grateful to be going to my neighbor's anniversary party tonight and have no desire to drink. Grateful that the desire to drink has been replaced by the desire to be grateful. Grateful that I'm no longer too drunk or too sick to go out in public.

Grateful for

a day filled with errands

chauffeuring my little person to a birthday party

helping my older daughter prepare for her birthday party (which is still very loud -- but at least her and the kids are downstairs)

grateful to believe her friends didn't try to sneak alcohol in the house,

grateful my house is warm and full of love

grateful that I could afford ice cream cake, pizza, and snacks for her party

grateful that my son is entertaining my little person while my daughter is having her party -- it really helps.

grateful to be able to say heck with the sugar free diet tonight and have a piece of birthday cake with my daughter

grateful to all of you for your support and friendship

Least, I hope you had a fabulous time at your neighbors party.

"Talk" to you Sunday... have a great sleep everyone!

Lots of gratitude here since I checked in last time! Oh, and the Harry Potter movie is fantastic!

Been working my tail off today, grateful for a few hours free this evening to take my beautiful wife out for a bite to eat and the movies!

Grateful there were no fatalaties when a Porsche spearing in my small town lost control and ended up crashing into the second floor of a house...it was at 11:30 pm on a Friday night...police report doesn't say but likely alcohol was a contributing factor.

Grateful for a productive and happy day.
