Grateful for my comfy home to spend a rainy day. Grateful that I had the good sense to walk the dogs inbetween rainfalls. Grateful to see my old beagirl lying under her blankie, warm and safe. Grateful that living sober is normal for me now.
Grateful to be just taking some cough medicine and Tylenol to ease my horrible cough and achy body tonight.... and now to curl up sober and finish reading a great book. Hopefully tomorrow I will feel better.
I am grateful for my supportive and loving husband of almost 10 years. Who has been there for me time and time again. My son who turned 5 yesterday. He was an IVF miracle baby. My job and people who are sober, supportive, and proud of my choice to live drugfree. My family and friends. God who is there to help me through the healing process. Every new day that comes. I'm blessed to still be alive.
After waking up in the middle of the night I am grateful for the sight of the dogs sleeping on the bed, safe and warm, and that I have a safe place to go when I can't sleep - right here.
