My brother died today
Jenny,
I am so very sorry about your brother Paul. He sounds like he was a great brother and son despite addiction.
I lost my brother John under very very similar circumstances too almost 3 years ago. He was 42. The worst part of it all was watching my parents go thru it. I miss my brother very much but I hold on to the thought that he isn't struggling with addiction any longer. He is free. And I truly believe that he was welcomed into the arms of our heavenly Father because he, like your brother, was a good and loving person who just lost his way.
I also gave a eulogy at my brother's funeral. I talked alot about childhood memories that I had of him. We were always so close growing up.
Your eulogy sounds really wonderful. Its from the heart...and thats all that matters.
I'm sorry for your loss. I'm sending prayers and strength your way today.

ohh, the trials and tribulation we must indear through out our lives. Your words were perfect. i think that it will help those who hear it remind themselves of the person your brother was, and take their thoughts away from the addiction. May God be with you through this dark time, and remember without the rain there would be no rainbows.
I am so very sorry for your loss of your brother.
There is a song by Vince Gill, called "Go Rest High on that Mountain" that has given me great comfort and strength. This song was written by Vince for his brother that lost his struggle with addiction.
I am not able to post the link (site says I have less than 15 posts?) to hear this song, but if you're interested, google... Go Rest High on that Mountain, Vince Gill, on YouTube.
May God Bless you and your family.

My heart goes out to you and your family at this time of great loss. Your eulogy is wonderful ... our loved ones are people first who suffer from addiction.
One of my favorite songs and one we played at my son's funeral, is "To Where You Are" by Josh Groban.
Paul walks with the angels now ... love and prayers surround you all.

Jenny,
I was compelled to read your thread carefully. My compassion goes out to you and your family. Life is so precious of a wonder. Loss is felt though out. Your message goes to all of us with addiction, how merciless and potentially deadly it is. I offer a quiet prayer for your loved ones in sorrow.
Peace—

I'm so sorry for your loss.
I'm the mother of a heroin addict and was not able to read through your eulogy but I'm sure it was wonderful. Maybe someday I can read these things and not get depressed for days. My heart breaks for the struggling addicts.
much love and prayers
