Oh man, you're making me hungry. Care if I join your island?
I love sushi, Mexican, Italian, Cajun. Garlic, olives, steak, mushroom, seafood, Caesar salads, peppers. You name it.
I'm a good cook, but limited. I like eating out when I have money.
If I travel, my main focus is where I'm going to eat. Haha

Drake, you can get Blue Plate shipped by Amazon. There is nothing better.
Join in Jemma. I started this thread to talk about positive self treatment and food is definitely positive self treatment, within reason.
One of my sisters found out that cooking requires failures. Burn some stuff. Experiment. Practice makes a cook.

I have, but rarely. The mayo is $6/jar and then they charge $8 to ship. Can make a batch of my own for less than that. With Duke's it is available where family and friends can easily bring it to me.
It is good though.

You talked me into buying a couple jars of Blue Plate. I talked to a fellow from Mississippi today and he said it was good, but like me, he really likes Duke's.
Helmann's will do if stuck in a blizzard/hurricane/earthquake event, or desertd on Mars.

I live in Belgium, the home of killer mayo.
Totally different from most of what we get in the US, unless you make it yourself.
Add home made french fries and you have the Belgian version of fast food.
Delicious if you are into that. Personally I want to come to hotlanta and have turtle take me around to his asian places.
On this site, we could do a culinary trip round the world...
Happy Sunday.
PS I still think there is a place for Miracle Whip in tuna salad, but it may just be memories of my childhood....

People always look at me weird when I eat my fries with mayo. Love it! Now I want a temp-controlled deep fryer so I can make pommes frites and my own mayo.
C'mon Dropsie, we'll need about a month.

I don't know quite how I feel about this. I'm not angry, or scared. It's beyond aggravation. I have to deal with it, today.
I have to get a TB test, post haste. My nurse practitioner sister who works in a hospital is confirmed with it. She has a 4 month antibiotic program to go through. I'm hoping I don't.

I'm sorry, Trach. But if your sister only needs that 4 month course of meds, it's likely that this is the worst you'd have to endure (unless you've been coughing your head off and you are the carrier - but you haven't mentioned that?
On the bright side of things, you have to stop drinking for four months if you're on that treatment - and you've taken care of that already!

No, I have no symptoms at all. I was tested over ten years ago(in jail for DUI) so I know I wasn't a carrier then. Went by the health department, conveniently open till 7 PM Tues. and Thurs., and they said come back next week as one must make two trips two days apart. It's just the suspense. Wondering if when I walk in the second time they're gonna tackle and quarantine me.
Hope for the best for our dear Turtle. "Old" diseases seem to come back to haunt us. We all got TB tests as kids in the 50's-60's at least. Not sure if they do that now.
Have a good day/evening/night whatever it is for all.

So... it seems like they are starting with a skin test, right? What they will check for in a few days is to see if your skin reacted at all (swelling). What happened with me when I had a positive reading 20 years (?!?!?) ago is they then sent me to the doctor for an x-ray. Because there was an active case walking around the city and they hadn't found that person yet, the waiting room staff kind of freaked a little bit when they realized after I was seated what I was there for and they hastily had me put on a mask. Doctor did the x-ray and said, yep you have a scar so you were exposed at some point but are in no imminent danger to anyone. If you'd like, you can go on this course of antibiotics for four months, but no drinking during that time. It pains me to say so, but even two decades ago I was already at the point where 1/3 of a year not drinking was inconceivable, so I never did it.
Fast forward a decade and I got a new job at a hospital where I had to do a health screening. I told them I'd had a positive TB test in the past and they sent me for an x-ray in house. The in-house scan came up inconclusive, so they sent me for an MRI! That scared me. To make matters worse, they told me they would call my doctor within a few DAYS to give her the results. So I called my doctor and she could tell by my voice how upset I was and she promised to get back to me the same day. Many hours of Bejeweled later, I heard from her. Everything was fine. *phew*
So try not to freak out. You have no symptoms.
Everything will likely be just fine.
