i'm really surprised
13 years in aa?
and now, you say it don't work
seems like a lot of rationalizing going on
have you thought it thru?
what would a glass of wine a day do for you?
are you going to a bar for "only" one beer?
what is it, a shot a day, keeps the doctor away?
you know, i still think about having a few beers
but
what will it do for me?
and
then, aa is a way of life
you also lose the fellowship
of course, you are welcome to your misery
if you want it back
admission to aa is not based on the doctor's opinion
keep reading something
and
you can slant it to your own view
admission is a desire to stop drinking
that gets you a seat
you may not be chronic "yet"

Curious OT question.
Why do
some
people on this forum
write
their posts like this?
I belong to other forums
and
never noticed anyone doing that
before.
Is it something with my browser that's
causing this?
Is it people writing their posts out on something else
and
cutting and pasting here which causes it?
Or is it for some
other
reason that I'm unaware of?
I ask because it sometimes makes things a little difficult to read through.
Was going to start a new thread asking this but the question didn't seem worth it's own thread.

From "Policies, Rules, and Posting Tips":
"Please break up your posts with paragraphs. Typing a 400 word run-on sentence is very difficult to read. Your posts are important and members will likely skip over what you have to say if your posts are hard to read."
I find that posts which are
oriented
too
vertically
are nearly as vexing to read as the 400-word run-on sentences.
Perfect English isn't required, but a little attention to convention does make things easier on everyone.

Hey there,
Bill Wilson wrote in the grapevine and then later was published in As Bill Sees It this: "We are only operating a spiritual kindergarten in which people are enabled to get over drinking and find the grace to go on living to better effect (As Bill Sees It, p. 95).
By no means am I suggesting your "leaving," but this quote sheds light on how our founder felt about trapping oneself in exclusively AA doctrine. I find by casting a wider net to remain recovered, I can still be "in" AA, but also living to a better effect.
Best to you my brother,
J

I remember my last drink 22 years ago, and I never want to feel like that again. It would be insanity for me to leave AA. I have seen what happens to people who leave AA and been to lots of funerals.
Please talk to your sponsor. The only requirement for AA membership is desire to stop drinking.
