5:50 AM

Awoke a few times throughout the night. Today is my long day at work. 8-4 with no lunch break. I’m taking a book and lots of food. Last week I snacked and played on my phone.
Hoping DIL gets out and about with the little one. No cupcake ladies at the market today but plenty of other things to do in the nice weather.
Melski-I hope your neighbors calm down. Sadly I remember alcohol infused fights with my XAH. No fun! He was very abusive and would be in prison in this day and age. The police didn’t do much 25 years ago.

A safe sober Saturday to all.

Thanks Imvalentine, it’s weird but their apartment has been closed up and dark since Thursday night.
Sorry to hear about your experiences with AXH.
I had the same at one point and glad that is behind for both of us.
Cupcakes sound so good right now lol.
Gotta love an awesome baked good...
Driving to Marin today, hair appointment and lunch with a friend and my dear little dog is coming too.
Happy Saturday

3:40 AM

Up with a cold and cough so here I am wide awake. Babysitting today so hoping to rest when Gdaughter does. A lot of green tea and healthy smoothie should help along with coffee and danish of course.
I have been ruminating about the past and present family situations and XAH’s continuing behavior. My own behavior and reactions need an overhaul. I’ve fallen back into the same patterns myself and need to knock it off.
Enough prattling. Hope we all have a productive and good Sunday.

The longer I am sober, the more my own reactions and perceptions stand out, for better or worse.
Even long time, non-drinking friendships seem different and perplexing.
Sigh, hope you feel better Imvalentine and a happy Sunday to you all.

Woke in a dream that GD was crying and she was. Her mom’s snooze alarm was ringing. Hope she settles down and goes back to sleep.
I have an appointment with ENT for a throat scope and I dread scopes and the C word. I’ve been extremely neurotic about this. The build up is nerve racking. Praying all looks good in there!

A positive and happy Monday to all.

After many decades of using every single day, sobriety, for me, was and still is an "alternate reality." It is as though we were dropped into another world sometimes, and we are figuring it out day by day. Your brain is trying to readjust itself to not being pummeled by booze all the time. You are learning to walk all over again. Give it time, don't make any rash decisions and live in the moment. Things start to sort themselves out the more time you get under your belt. I feel we all go through this period of questioning everything, especially in early sobriety.
Ride the wave, don't fight it!

My thoughts are with you Imvalentine! You have shown yourself capable of dealing with a whole load of adversity and keeping on the straight and narrow. I am certain that you will find the inner strength to handle whatever.

Not yet. I had an old above ground pool pad made of crushed stone that I'm changing to a veggie garden for next year. It's 16 feet wide and I took the top 6 inches off which I will replace with good soil.

Up at 5:45, just didn't want to get out of bed.
