Early Risers Check-in Thread Pt 10
6:55 AM
I slept over 8 hours. Very unusual and wonderful.
Picked up a temporary P/T job at a car dealership doing filing and phones. The hours are good and I’m relieved.
Enjoy your vacation Ringo.
Farmers market for cupcakes day!
Have a good Saturday all.

Farmers market and cupcakes sound great Imvalentine!
Heading to yoga soon but a close to home day planned.
Chores and doggy bath on the agenda then some reading and much needed chill time.
Wishing you all a safe and fun Saturday

Posting 2 days after falling off the wagon. Can't shake the feeling of guilt and hopelessness. Going to try, though.
Is this a regular thread? I ruminate about alcohol in the AM and it's my most challenging part of the day, sobriety wise.

Welcome, Pouncer!
Yes, this is a "regular thread"!
We post early because we all are Early Risers & like to begin our day with a lovely positive greeting!
Happy September 1st, Everyone!
Make it a Golden Day!

woke up feeling sad about not still having my old job (lost to drinking 6 years ago), but started feeling grateful because at least I have a part time job to head to and also most important, I can come here to write this. Enjoy the day all!
Hi Pouncer
Up at 6:30 AM, another dreary rainy day. Went out to push the water off the canopy of my gazebo and got soaked! Think I'll go into work for a few hours this morning....

Good morning and welcome Pouncer and Awake61. Nice to see new names. We are here every morning.
A little late today. Woke up earlier for about an hour though. Just me and the Gdaughter today.
Awake-I am retired but will be starting a P/T temp job this week. I’m very grateful to have found it.
A safe sober Sunday to all.

Hoping Gdaughter goes back to sleep! I could use some more myself but am wide awake. The call of nature and toddlers are tiring.
Attending bbq at XAH’s later. Trying to keep my mindset positive.
Definitely a Serenity Prayer day ahead.
A good Monday and holiday to all.

Good morning and happy Labor day.
For some, of today is a holiday/day off from work but it always evokes memories
of cookouts and parades from childhood.
My parents were not big drinkers but our neighbors sure were!
Am doing a bit of work this morning then off to yoga and horses, two of my favorite things.
Feeling grateful for sobriety, the life I am creating and for all you great people.

3:00 AMish
Woke up to use the bathroom and started thinking so here I am wide awake.
The bbq yesterday was a reminder of why I’m divorced and the repercussions of alcoholism and denial. I’m grateful I can see what I did and what my denial is still doing to keep the facade up. Not fun but neither is living in la la land.
Start P/T temp job today. I need to keep in mind the temporary and not feel trapped. I’m a mess this morning!
Hope everyone has a good Tuesday.

Sounds like a good and insightful weekend for many here.
On Saturday late afternoon one of my neighbors had a party.
You could hear the glasses clinking and tabs popping and then after an hour or so terrible argument broke out.
I live in a nice apartment complex but we are all very much on top of each other.
Anyway a man and woman arguing loudly, incomprehensible and lots of slurred words.
Now, no judgement, I had plenty of slurry arguments with my ex in the past but I was struck with how much the alcohol part really stood out in this situation.
The sounds, the timing, the anger.
I guess just being on the other side and hearing others suffering really made me
even more thankful for my sobriety.
Only 80 days in and a lifetime ahead but thankful.
Have a great day all.

Up early this morning. My BF is in NY until Saturday so I am "home alone". It is really nice to just have to take care of myself and of course the cats, fish, plants and household. Lol Have a great day, everyone!
