Early Risers Check-in Thread Pt 10

Have not been a huge reader, mostly do to lack of time. I did start the Harry Potter series while on vacation and since I missed several weeks of work with my surgical recovery, the timing was right. Have two hundred pages left in the seventh and final book.
Sorry the interview did not pan out Imvalentine. In my job, I need to mini interview applicants on the spot when they hand in an application, to see if they warrant a more in depth interview. It's difficult making a quick decision on people. We have many enthusiastic candidates whom might make a good employee, but we are looking for the home run applicant most times. If you really want that job, reapply in a few months. I have hired folks whom reapplied at a later date. I admire persistence.
Up at 4:15 for work and a quick workout, though the workout isn't really happening. More coffee and SR.
Woke up to drinking dreams, but I didn't drink and spent the dream avoiding alcohol and laughing about not drinking to others. Guess that's progress over the drinking dreams I had in early sobriety.

I am trying to use up my garden harvest. Made some tomato veggie soup yesterday. I am now on a 'soup kick'! Sending love to you, Venuscat!
Imvalentine...you know the old saying "when one door closes another opens up" and if you don't see a door opening up, then, 'open a window'!!! Stay positive!

Good morning early peeps.
Still dark here in CA lol.
Day 72 for me, just over ten weeks.
So far and yet I know it’s just the first day of the rest of my sober life.
My mind and body feel completely different and no cravings, urges or resentment
I expected to feel cheated or left out somehow by sobriety but I don’t.
That said I don’t have to spend much time around drinkers and I work from home
which alleviates that social pressure.
Well anyway I hope you all have a wonderful blessed Sunday.

Thank you Stargazer for the input and everyone for the positive thoughts. Chloe-I like the “Open a window”. I’ve never heard that before. I used to take applications in at the PO and put a plus or minus sign on them. You can tell a lot about people by the way they treat the hired help!

Lady the Coonhound needs to go the vet--hope they have an immediate appointment! We leave for vacation on Sunday. Is that selfish of me? To want her better so the dog sitter doesn't have to deal with a sick dog and we don't have to be concerned about her while we are gone?
