I struggle with balance myself. I’m an introvert and enjoy time alone but then feel like I’m in hiding or not “normal”. I go to extremes with it and feel resentful about justifying it. I’ll quit rambling now.
An interview for an office assistant job this afternoon. I’m more suited to that type of work I think.

I hope we all have a good Wednesday.

Good luck on your interview Imvalentine!
I too struggle with being mostly an introvert, feeling isolated and vulnerable and then overdoing it with activities to make up for it.
Ugh, well whatever it is, it is easier to manage sober.
Happy Wednesday to you all.

Good luck from me too.

I am an extrovert who desperately needs time alone. I have always been this way, since I was a little girl. I would play happily by myself for hours. I still do.

I have been isolating far too much, and next week it all changes....well it is changing this week. I know I will feel absolutely knocked out by the sea of people on my first day of college next week, but by the second week I will be fine.

I am very self-conscious....I always have been, and I am prone to panic attacks. So it is very tempting to hide from the world. But when I said bye honey etc to my husband this morning, a lovely lady walked past with her dog and we talked for a minute....and the entire colour of my day changed. I am not doing the right thing for myself when I hang out at home too much.....I need the world and people to be truly myself and happy.

Love and hugs xx

Morning everyone! Up at 0300 hours.

Took me awhile to accept I need people in my life, for after all "I drank, We stay sober" and "I binged, We stay abstinent".

I do love my alone time though.

Hi all, up a bit earlier than usual this morning for work.
Turning out to be a busy week for sure.
Anyone else like to check books (or other things) out at the library?
Since I stopped drinking been reading two to four books a month and lots of different ones.
Have an e-reader which I like but nothing like a real book!
Old fashioned I guess but it's working!
Have a great day!

Slept in till about 6:30.
It is cooling off in the morning already and leafs are slowly starting to fall.
i do read a lot and forget the library is available. I love Barnes and Nobles but it gets expensive. I confess I use Amazon. We have a cool used book store downtown also. One of the blessings of being sober is enjoying a good book. No e-reading allowed!
Not confidant with the interview. I forgot to ask about the business in my nervous state.

Have a good Thursday everyone.

Can you look it up online love? I always do.....and make note of a few points to mention or ask about.....it works wonders.

Good luck. s

I used to melski.....big time (in Australia) but I am a germaphobe.....very happy to never touch another book or magazine that has been touched by so many other people. I adore libraries though. xx

Good Morning from another avid reader who wanted to be a librarian when I was a child! I still find peace at the library. My library system has e-books that are available to download and checkout to my Kindle app. There is also the Hoopla app. I still get physical books, too, because I just love the feel of them. I find the sight of a stack of library books on my desk makes me smarter!lol

Not a big reader, I think I own five books. Manuals and technical papers for my job is about it. My wife and son are both veracious readers. We go to used book sales often. It's a family tradition to go to the book store on new years eve day. The kids spend their Christmas money there.

I did not get the job. I’m trying to look at the interview as a learning experience. The next one will be better or worse who knows.
A day trip to CO will be a fun break from the routine today.
Venuscat i feel your germophobia about reading material. I had a geography book in 4th grade that was gross. Vivid memory!

A great Friday to all.

Up at 0400. Rode bike to work today. I hope to never take for granted waking up clear headed, sober, abstinent, and ready to greet the day!

Oops! Forgot something: Imvalentine, perhaps that job was not meant for you. Your HP will take care of you.

Interviews can be like blind dates.
Sorry to hear Imvalentine but the right situation/opportunity is out there for you.

I love my Kindle too and download library books there but something about a real book and I like seeing them piled up too.
Day 70 here and really looking forward to the weekend.
Have a great day all.
