(((TOD))) sweet post- have a wonderful day. love hugs, and all.

(((Lenina))) I have been talking to a member of fIP, and she pointed out that your vet is most likely very wise and kind, perhaps knowing that whatever the cause of the fluids, is no doubt incurable. I dont know if she might want to try the prednisalone, as it can sometimes help in the discomfort.
Here is part of her answer.
As far as draining more frequently--was she also told to bring kitty back
if increased discomfort? One of the issues with draining belly fluid with
protein in it before REALLY necessary is that it will just
reaccumulate...with each time leading to MORE protein loss and further
weakening the patient. Kind of counterintuitive, but early drainage is not
always a good thing.
love ya (((Leninski))) hugs too. hope you are feeling better today.
love chicory

Oh my dearest ((((chicory)))

Thank you so much for the information. An X ray was done but the vet said due to the fluid, it was hard to tell about the tumor. The FuzzyB is getting some steroids, twice a day, and it seems to help with s appetite.

He was a feral rescue, taken from a colony and cleaned up a bit before being take to the local pound. he was "sprung" by another rescue group, neutered, vaccinated and put into a foster family before being up for a adoption through Pet Co.

He's a very sweet boy even with being a little geeky with his shyness. I think being captured in the baited food trap traumatized him so he's always been fearful of eating around us. Until recently! Ten years after being in our home, he finally will eat a bit when we are in the same room! LOL

The vet even said he was a "sweet boy" and very pretty. I don't think she's a cat specialist as most the clinic seem to be dogs. They do have a room for cats only. Yesterday, theFuzzyB perked up a bit. He was going between Hubs and I and wanting to conversate and get pets. I gave him a good brushing and we had some deep and meaningful chats. He's eating OK and really enjoying his Cat Sip. As,long as he's comfortable and enjoying his food, It will be OK. I'm just so frustrated. So far, it's cost over $700 just to get diagnosed, have his belly drained and for the meds. I am sure this is a reasonable amount for Vet fees and I don't resent that, it's just that we don't really have the money! I scraped together what I could and the office let me make payments. I am grateful and this is a time of year I can make more money but dang!

I will copy this info off and drop it by the vet's office. I am not feeling well today due to this cold and maybe a bit of depression. My own doctor has left some samples for my own health issue so I have to get by to pick them up.

I do think the world is just crazy now. I am grateful for the kindnesses I find here and at the various doctors offices.

much love to you!

Lenina

((Chicory)) - thanks so much for all your help with our furbabies.

((Lenina)) - glad ((FuzzyB)) perked up. I can just visualize him with his meaningful chats Elvis has decided if he's inside, he's on me again. It makes studying and looking through several books a challenge but he rules.

((TOD)) - totally cool about the deer out the window and the cardinal! I saw 3 deer running across the road the other day, and we did have a cardinal out in the bushes around the driveway but haven't seen it in a week or so.

We have a chance of scattered thunderstorms again and the high is only supposed to be around 89 so I'm a happy camper.

Hope the MIA hens and roosters check in soon!

Hugs and prayers,

Amy

((((Amy)))). Just so you know you're not the only "cat staffer" the FuzzyB has water glasses on both night stands, the coffee table, the end table, on the kitchen floor (the usual one) and one on the floor beside my bed. Also, a dish of Cat Sip on the floor with his special mat and his other dish of kitten food. And a dish of dry kitten/adult dry kibbles. LOL

dang, Are all the Hen House cats reincarnations of the Queen of Sheba? When do we get some staffers? LOL.

Oh this cold is getting nasty. I took some Alka Seltzer cold plus day formula. Oy! I need some deli kreplah and saltines. maybe some toast. Or some of those Oreo cream filled cookies they are advertising so much.

Mich love to all my Hennies and roosters

Lenina

PS. I have been taking my zinc/vitamin C stuff for a few days now. I guess it was just too strong a cold bug. At least it waited for me to get home to go full bloom.

((Lenina)) - Hope the cold is short lived. Elvis would LIKE more water bowls out, but he just has the two in my room, the fountain that ((Aunt Chicory)) sent them in the kitchen, another bowl in the kitchen and two outside.

Dad is in a grumpy mood, says he is telling sm she has to quit smoking as there is no money for cigarettes. He's also complaining about some other stuff, things/people he can't control. I'm wondering if I can move to the basement? I probably just need to duct tape my mouth and keep my headset on to drown out what I don't want to hear.

I did talk to my classmate buddy who's house I'm going to for fireworks on the 4th. I can't wait, as I'll finally get to meet her, her daughters and granddoggy's that I've heard about, as well as about 50 other people? School break is also that week so I'm hoping we can just relax and have a good time.

Hugs and prayers,

Amy

Guess what was sitting on my desk this evening when I finally got up around 7:00 pm? It was a package with two small beautiful spoons in it!!! They must have gotten here yesterday and Jethro didn't check the mail until today. I don't check the mail anymore. That's something Jethro likes to do when he gets home from work. So I let him have that enjoyment. There were two days in a row we didn't get any mail and he asked me if I'd checked the mail? Nope! He replied with, "No one loves us anymore"! Meaning! Since we aren't behind on any bills, we aren't getting a ton of, You owe us money mail. Thank God for that. Lord knows we've been there too many times in the past. That sort of mail can sure stack up in a hurry! Lots of paper for shredding to use in the boys crates! LOL But anyhow!!!

Thank you Amy for getting them here. Sorry to hear dad is now romping on SM to stop smoking too. I knew it was just a matter of time before he started in on her since you have now stopped smoking. This is going to cause WWIII in ya'lls house. SM will probably be heading out the door to live some place else if it continues.

TB: Good luck tomorrow! I'm a little confused on how you can be eligible for medicaid while on UE?

Lenina: Get well soon. I'll just keep taking my CLO and hope for the best! LOL

Love ya'll

((((TB)))) I hope tomorrow isamore successful day for you. Bring some snacks, a book, your tunes and Ihope they get your processed out quickly.

Do report in with us ASAP.

Hubs just ran out to get me some kreplah soup. it's therapeutic at the very least. Jewish penicillin but tasty!

Hope everyone has sweet dreams. I doze off watching The Naked Archaeologist. great show if you get a chance to see it. Very interesting and entertaining and I swear that guy has the biggest kippah ever!

much love to all the hens and roosters.

Lenina: Sending healing thoughts your way. Are you Jewish? Just asking because of the remedies you mention from time to time. How long do you have to stay at home to heal before getting back in the cab to go back to work?

Jethro verified this evening it was 106 today. Well! I'm glad I slept thru it. He however can stand this kind of heat. He was outside in it working on the riding lawn mower he brought home a few days ago. I fussed at him for working in this heat.

It's almost 3:00 am. I got all the girls pottied and Martha is outside chasing bugs. I've been cleaning the porch off. I am drenched. It's 78 right now. Humidity is what's bad. It's at 81%. I'm going to do a little bit more as well as try to get the pit cleaned up a little more than our usual clean up. Still got to do the inside girls crates. Molly is out here with me. Her whole cage has to be redone. The others only need their ice packs replaced and their bowl of corn put in front of them. LOL

I can't sleep all day. I have to get to my hair dresser's before 5:00 pm to get my hair colored and clipped.

TB: Take Lenina's advise on what to bring with you to make the time go by faster. But then again. You really don't have any other place to be, LOL, so it shouldn't be a problem on the time.

The AC is cranking out here as well as in the house. Thank God for AC, but Lord I don't want to see the bill when it comes in. I'd hand it to Jethro so I wouldn't have to see it, but then I'd have to deal with him "B'ing" about the money going out the window. So I guess I'll just silently pay it and wait for the next months bill to come in. But it will be the same ole story for the next few months. Arrrrgggghhhh!!!!

Amy! Did you consider the palet suggestion I sent to ya?

Chickory: Talked with my daughter a few days ago. She is past the shingles and back to herself again. She's also been off the anti-d's for a couple of months now too. So she's doing well. She's taking her daughter to PA next weekend for a girlscout event.

Love ya'll

checking in. It's all still a major bummer - Hazel had second chemo yesterday, on Sunday spouse ran his spread sheet and showed me that in the last sixty days we've spent 6K on her, but to his credit he hasn't pulled the checkbook plug. Still struggling with my insurance company re pain doc. Body is not reacting well to all this stress. Will report back in when it's not all such a bummer. TPA

((TPA)) - Prayers that things get better for you and ((Hazel))

((TB)) - Please do let us know how it goes, today..prayers for you, too.

((TOD)) - Palet? Sorry, my head is spinning after talking to my teammate who is way ahead in our classes and asking me questions on stuff I don't have a clue.

((Lenina)) - Hope the soup made you feel better. I truly love comfort food.

Just woke sm up to write me a check and am going to pick up some necessities. Dad is at the shop, having his van looked at. I've got to get back home and get busy on homework, as I never got very motivated yesterday.

((Love to all))

Hugs and prayers,

Amy

(((Amy))) I am feeling better today. I think the soup helped. still stuffy, headachy, body achy but much better than yesterday.

((((TPA)))) So sad to hear things are not going so well for you. Is Hazel responding well to the chemo? Poor baby is in my best thoughts.

(((TB)))) I hope they bumped you up to the head of the line today. I have to say it always shocks me just how unhelpful people can be. I hope you're taking lots of people watching notes. We have some pretty strange rangers in my 'hood. My favorite is this older man with the most interesting hair do. sort of an up do with a braid. LOL

(((Amy))) I hope you can stay out of the hse today and enjoy the good weather and peace.

The FuzzyB is eating, drinking his Cat Sip but mostly he's lounging around, laying in his power spots. His poor tummy is bloating again. But he seems happy enough. He slept with me a while last night on the couch. He's seems to be not so interested in the hanging out in the bed room.

I really have to get out of the house today. I have things that need doing.

Much love! ((((JayBird))) Do check in please!

Here's some flower pics I saw in my favorite Daily Mail and thought you'd like to see them.

What in the world could have led botanists to call this cheeky flower the Monkey Orchid? | Mail Online

Much love!

Amy: Several pages back. I posted this message to you!

"Amy: I can't believe you are crying over the heat today. It's not even HOT yet. LOL It's coming though. Starting tomorrow. So be sure the intake is clear of animal/human hair and there is a clean filter on it. Is there any way to confiscate pallets from trash bins to set your furniture on top of your vents on, to open up the vent area? The furniture could remain in the same place only it would be raised up off the vents. OR? Can you run a plastic pipe up under your mattress/bed frame to pull air from the vent under the bed into the room? Just some suggestions I had thought of to maybe get the airway opened up in your room. And you wouldn't have to rearrange your room to do it."

Thanks to 'Debby'! The weather today is 92 with winds blowing at 2 - 3 mph. So we aren't in a heat wave today like we were yesterday. But the news man said we'll be back to the 100's in a day or two.

I got the porch cleaned enough we now have a fairly large sized area that's cleared of stuff. I also got the pit area cleaned up and it now smells and looks better. Dorothy has taken to sleeping in the small cage and Marvin has taken to bouncing back and forth between the board ledge hanging out from under the cage and Dorothy's corner she used to sleep in.

I'm saving the old hay to put down on top of the grass seed I'm going to put out. It's the area right off the back porch here. I'm going to have to break down and buy some of the high dollar grass seeds, Burmuda. With this heat we are having. I can't keep the Rye grass watered enough to keep it from shriveling up. It all looks like the fake grass you buy to put in Easter baskets right now. Nothing edible for the kids. Burmuda is summer grass and Rye is winter grass. I remember dad putting out Rye grass seeds during the winter time when I was much younger and had horses to feed. He laughs about it today. Having to cut grass in the winter time. LOL

Well! No hair being done today. My hairdresser is feeling sick to her stomach and went home early today. We are going to try for Thursday now. I told her it's no big deal. There's nothing in the near future I need to have better looking hair for. LOL

I got some of my concentrate in a few days ago. I'll make myself a glass of tea and mix 1/4 teaspoon in the glass. This gives me a boost of energy. I'll try and get some stuff done on the inside, in the cool, since I'm up way earlier than I usually am.

Lenina: Good news on you feeling better today. Must be that Jewish thing you were talking about.

Amy: Time is flying by on your school stuff. What are you going to do with yourself when you aren't all absorbed in school work? I bet SM is walking around on tip toes today. She probably has her jet packs on right now. This is what I say about the bunnies when they are close to us and their back legs are just a dancing with anticipation on running away! Dads at home, he's not in a good mood, he's harping on her quitting smoking, griping about the house being cluttered, etc. I wouldn't want to be in her shoes.

TPA: Here ya go Lenina! And you thought you had an expensive vet bill! That is a lot of money. I sure hope Hazel pulls thru with all the care and expense that has been poured into caring for her. Hubby probably knows for his own health he better NOT pull the checkbook funds away from you. What is going on with your pain doc and your care?

TPA: Let us know what the results of your meeting today ended up being!!

Cangel: How did your meeting turn out? Did you wear flip flops?

Love ya'll

((TOD)) - Sorry, I do remember that. It's actually not hot in the house, but then I haven't had hot flashes in a while so that helps. I had already pulled the mattress away from the bookshelf headboard so some of the cool air can escape, but it hasn't been bad. I know we're going to get the hot weather, but right now? It's 86 and gorgeous, so I am not complaining.

Sm is acting normal, the brat is here to wash clothes. The dr. she has been seeing for her pregnancy stuff refused to see her for the ongoing bronchitis. ER gave her a medicine that is iffy for pregnant women, and I have to give her credit - she is putting NOTHING in her body that there is even a possibility of doing damage to the baby. I did remind her that drinking a lot of water would help the bronchitis move on out of her system.

((Lenina)) - glad you are feeling a little better and that ((FuzzyB)) seems content.

I've been e-mailing, calling and texting with various classmates. The one who has driven me crazy in the past, I actually am getting to know and will be heading to her house soon to get some garden-fresh veggies She has "tomato trees" - plants are about 7 feet tall? She lives within walking distance of the school campus so I can find her.

Oh, and I told her my history - just don't want to lie and try to remember what I lied about when she asked my why I wasn't a nurse any more. Amazingly, she is like the rest of my classmates/instructors. Simply said "oh, okay" then moved on to the next topic. Absolutely NO judgment or attitude and that really helps.

I've filled out lots of online applications, heard nothing from any of them. I'm going to take a volunteer application to the senior center that is right down the road. Classmate buddy T1 told me about it - her mom uses their services. I know, it's not a paying job, but it will get me out of the house and interacting with people, and will look good on a resume. Besides, never know what will lead to a "real" job, but the more I get "out there" the better chance I have.

On day 12 of no smoking, almost $80 that I "saved" and going to put that money in savings. DA (the classmate with the garden) said when she quit, she saved that money for 6 months and bought a sapphire/diamond right. Hmmm, sapphire IS my birthstone I'm still thinking I'll put the money toward going to MN for my cousin's wedding.

Hugs and prayers,

Amy

((Jay))) - good to see you dropping in

Now am waiting to hear from ((TB) and the other missing hens and roosters.

I am thoroughly convinced. Come hell or high water, we hens and roosters have each others' backs and that is pretty amazing. We may disagree, we may sink into places we'd rather not go. Fact is, we are a team. The love we feel for each other is awesome. We feel pain, when any of us is going through "stuff" but we always have each others' backs.

I seriously don't think I'd be where I am if it weren't for all of you and the henhouse...which I have to thank our dear ((Windy)) for the title Also have to thank ((TOD)). I may be a cackling hen (Windy) but after meeting the silkies? Being a hen is a good thing!!

Long live the hh and all who made it what it is

Hugs and prayers,

Amy

((TOD)) Leave it to you to remember about my flip flop decision....I split the difference.....wore them up to the door and carrier a pair of heels in my bag. Meeting was kind of a waste of time....but had to do it. Been working on my resume and taking some career assessment tests and seminars.

After a face to face meeting I took myself shopping and bought two suits....yikes....don't know what scared me more....the cost or the fact that I went up a size??? Oh well.....time to work on the size thing a bit more diligently. As for cost.....suit expensive....tops....cheap....balance it out!! Haven't shopped for good work clothes in years so it is ok; plan was to start over slowly and thoughtfully!!

Hugs to everyone else.....gotta get some sun while it is in the right spot in the backyard.....then gotta jump on my trainer and spin for an hour.
