Great starting post, Mags!
I'm looking forward to a sober weekend,
I also am affected by the lack of daylight, and especially the clocks turning back which is this Sunday for me, although at least it will be lighter in the morning earlier for a bit.
I do try and enjoy all the seasons, which is somewhat contradictory, but I must force myself outside when it's cold to really conquer the doldrums.
Having said that, it's an incredibly beautiful November day in here in PA. I'll take it while it lasts.

Went to bed in the wee hours but slept well, with Billie snuggled next to me. . Woke up to less pain than usual, hope that's a sign that it's going away.

My Occupational Therapist comes today. I am going to do my exercises for her and ask her to correct any mistakes I'm making in doing them. Also want to ask her if she has any new ones I could do.

I always put Billie in the crate while they're here to avoid Billie's boisterous behavior. I'm noticing the last week or so, all I have to do is say "Billie, come here and go in the crate." And she comes right over and walks into it nice as you please. . When I let her out, I always give her a few treats and tell her what a good girl she is. . I am so blessed to be able to share my life and my home with her.

Well, the OT will be here soon.

MesaMan that would make a nice signature:

Time flies whether I'm having fun or not. So, might as well have fun with it.”

One more thing-I am not crafty at all, BUT I did buy an embroidery kit in a moment of hope, and I have a crochet kit in my Amazon cart although I may go to a craft store to look at options in person before buying. Wish me luck in this new endeavor!.

@samwitch I bought an embroidery kit, too, to go along with the crocheting supplies I bought at the beginning of the pandemic and never touched.

I think I will actually use both of them this winter. I do not know how to do either one of them very well. So I'll be learning as I go.

I love the winter, but I’m here for those who don’t! My poor mom has terrible SAD- loves her sunshine lamp. Light therapy really is effective from my observations.

Happy sober weekend, all!

Had my session with my new OT. I like her a lot and think we'll get on just fine. She showed me how to do some of my upper body exercises with a stretchy band and then gave it to me before she left.

Right now I'm cooking a Beyond Burger griller patty but so far don't like it cause it fell apart when I tried to turn it over.

Good Morning Weekenders

Samwitch, I bought an embroidery kit a long while back. I love to see them but I couldn’t figure which was the top and the bottom. Think I need to get a simpler sampler.

MantaLady good to see you. hope you’re doing ok.

It’s Guy Fawkes Day tomorrow (5th) here in UK so I expect there’ll be plenty of fireworks going off . Scares many critters. (And some humans too! )

Take care and shout out if you need to.

Love to all weekenders xxxx

Marty I hope your man friend continues to improve. Oh a winter holiday sounds wonderful.

Viking I too get SAD, I did buy a sunshine lamp but for me it didn't help. I'm glad it works for your Mum.

My poor Alfie is very poorly. He has been a bit off for a few days but took a turn for the worse yesterday afternoon. He became overheated, listless and was sick. I phoned the vet and he is going in for blood tests 8.30 this morning. As the evening went on he seemed to get worse so I had to call emergency vet. His gums have gone very pale and he is clearly unwell. Vet said if he deteriorated more she would see him in the night but to try and wait till morning if not.
My dogs are absolutely my whole world as I have no one else.

Here he is a few days ago

Kaily, sorry to hear Alfie isn’t well. Hope the vet can give him some medication to help. One of my cats in the past had pale gums and it was high blood pressure which was treatable with a daily tablet. Let us know how he gets on bless him. You take care. x

Kaily,

So sorry to hear your beloved Alfie is not doing well. Have a 16 year old dog that is declining in health and is painful to watch. I try to find solace in all the good times we had and have with him. He still provides great joy. Hope you find good news at the vet.

Runner I hope you are able to make your old boy or girl comfortable in old age. Alfie is only 10 and up until now still very fit and healthy.

The vet took bloods, temperature, tested urine and listened to his heart. The blood test results will be back tomorrow, as for the other things there was nothing remarkable. That said he is still very unwell, he won't eat. I even bought him finest cod but no. Vet gave me some steroids but he can only have them if he eats.

Thanks everyone.
