New year challenge
Thankyou Tursiops they are actually staying down in Kerry for the week my mam is just looking forward to being served food and and not having to cook having her room cleaned by someone else for a change the joys of the all inclusive holiday 🙂.
Sorry late post tonight 2 walks today but im giving you Muckross house and garden in Killarney from yesterday. I just love going there. Its a good read if you're intrested in looking it up. I did the tour inside the house a few years ago a story from the original owner looking for his lordship from Queen Victoria and ending up bankrupt to the last owners Americans who gifted it to the Irish state.
Lovely morning and a few crows hanging around again not long now before nesting season and the noises will really kick in. The young bird call "caw caw" all morning wanting to be fed by the parent its unbelievably loud and always seems to be on our house around 5am 😅 drives my wife mad, me not so much as im an early riser and get up once its bright which can be 4am during the summer. Hope you are all well.
Looked at the weather forecast last night and im sure everyone in Ireland just loved seeing the big H on the tv. High pressure building from the south it gives you the shivery feeling of excitement, expectations on what can be done in that window of dry days. Ah yes no rain for a few days is all we can talk about🙂.
I did do some research and the work being done in the harbour is a project of dredging, some pipe laying and reinforcement of the piers the usual general works needed with the growing population of the town. Hope you are all doing well today.

Hope you enjoy/enjoyed watching the swim, AL.
I do triathlons (slowly) but only the shorter ones in a pool. I’ve watched newer triathletes (braver ones than me) compete in open water swims, and they often swim in a curve instead of a straight line. It’s a lot of practice to get to a good level, and then they have to cycle and run afterwards!

Some fitness level those people have Hodd I cant imagine being that fit i dont think id have the discipline.
Free the fish is what remains of a Conger eel left fot the birds to feast on you'd ofter see the remains of the monkfish also as the tail and cheek is all thats taken from it.
This morning was another beautiful one out early 7am while everyone else was asleep 😴 its was bliss.

^ from my limited experience about from doing the shorter triathlons, it’s all about pacing yourself. Anyone can ride a bike quickly for 20km, but then getting off and running another 5 takes some getting used to. I believe that’s why swimming is always first in a triathlon - that’s not where to want to run out of energy
A lot of my club mates practice transition - where you change shoes, etc., between each section. I’m just glad of the rest! I love it, though, and even I don’t come last
I wish I had your morning person mindset

Hodd its funny i listen to some motivation podcasts and try to take what i can from them getting up early isnt really an issue so that was easy.
One man said "meet the morning head on, win the morning and you win the day"
"Yeah great advice until you meet an as*hole who spoils the rest of it".
That was said to me when i tried to pass on this gem of advice i had taken on 😅. Good to see people who are so positive😉.
I still admire your capacity to even attempt the triathlon though. Well done you.

13k and i can feel it in my legs this morning. If you were able to witness the cold wind blowing off the Atlantic ocean numbing the hands you'd think i was crazy
I was wrapped up warm leaving home but was getting to hot when those hills were on the trail. I did an alone historical walk as my hometown is surrounded by forts and so on but it was enjoyable.
