Well I guess we won't be going for any dog walks today. It started raining a while ago and even having thunder. Took Billie out for potty and she obliged me. I told her to 'just do it' and I'd dry her off when she was done.

Aly, how kind of you to get sweets for your mom.

I’m in for a sober weekend!
Although I’ll be out of phone range camping, I won’t be drinking.

I’m going to look up that book
Richard Bach, Illusions: The Adventures of a Reluctant Messiah.

I love Jonathan Livingstone Seagull
And here he is ❤️

On top of that the plumber didn’t arrive and didn’t even give me a lame excuse, well basically ignored my text.

In the past I would’ve immediately turned to drink. I would’ve deserved it, I’d tell myself. But the drink would’ve added stress to the day and it would’ve been ‘woe is me’, the world hates me.....

I know many of you will have been in similar or worse situations and have not turned to booze for the solutions. There’s zero answers in the bottom of a bottle.

Drinking, we know only exacerbates our problem.

I’ve borrowed the following text from one of many of Dee’s inspiring posts. Thanks Dee.

Illusions is one of my favourite books by Richard Bach.

It's actually the first place I read 'don't sweat the small stuff'.

I recommend it to anybody if you can find a copy.

He also writes:

“There is no such thing as a problem without a gift for you in its hands. You seek problems because you need their gifts.”

― Richard Bach, Illusions: The Adventures of a Reluctant Messiah

I struggled with that for a long time (still not sure I seek problems but I can take good from them, lol).

The gift of my problems this week was to remind me of the good things in my life...and to remind me that others in this world are *really* suffering.

very nice. Thank you, I’m in!

Nuptials complete. Lots to be healthy for....

No disasters as ‘excuses’. No excuses.

No answers in alcohol, no room or need for it. Choosing healthy. Choosing, actively choosing, happy, sober life.

Some lower sea level areas immediately to our south are experiencing flooding with water levels rising. Most of the waters are from the Myakka River and will, eventually and gradually, run into Charlotte Bay. The experts say that won’t occur until Sunday. Last I heard evacuation orders were voluntary but emergency centers have been opened.

Aly, I have ridden that track or bridle path as we call it, many times. I don't have my horse or ride anymore but it was a huge part of my life for a long time. Kept me relatively sane!
I am pleased your Mum is recovering well.

Congratulations Haris, enjoy Bath.

I hope your weather calms down Leigh, Purps and Cityboy.

Morning, Mags.

Still no fence progress, driving me nuts, how can it be such a big deal. I was told manager would contact me within twenty four hours of my complaint, forty eight hours ago.

Good Morning Weekenders

Free and Mr. Free, beautiful photo.

Hiya Kaily I don’t think they (contractors) have an understanding of time.

Leigh, stay safe

Morning Everyone and we’ll done for coming back Phil!! Could have written your post myself so don’t be too hard on yourself, you’re definitely not alone xx

So, just cleaning the house and packing my tent and camping gear in the car for my 2 night camping trip by the sea. It’s debatable what kind of weather I am going to get but will enjoy being by the sea regardless. I’ve been renewed at work for another 6 months which is a great relief too. I am taking a few books with me and a blank journal as going to write everything down, get it off my shoulders and use this time to reboot and get grounded.

Huge hugs to anyone who needs it xx

I'm not at the contractor stage yet. Still trying to get permission due to the neighbours saying I can't do it.

I hope you have a nice time Manta. Where are you going, and is it a pop up tent? I have a yearning for some sea air too.

There is a school playing field at the back of my house. They erected some big yurts this week and each night about 30 children have been staying in them. Probably instead of the annual school holiday being cancelled because of Covid. I'm pleased to say they sleep well.

MantaLady enjoy your weekend camping. Journaling is a great idea x

Kaily, ugh, they need to get a move on for you. I love the yurts, must be quite an adventure for the kiddos.

Good to see Jonathon.

Free, congrats.

Manta, hope you have nice weather.

Kaily, 30 kids staying in yurts behind your yard .

SoberLeigh, I hope the flooding isn't too bad. The Charlotte area has had its share of water issues lately. There was a little flash flooding along the gulf coast here, but it's just very wet in inland areas. I've heard people say they had from 4 to 6.5 inches of rain.
