AR, so sorry for your loss. We are with you and so many of us understand.
Going to try to not sweat the small stuff today. Grateful to be sober and doing some chores.
Love and peace to you all. You are all the best! So kind.

Hi anxiousrock, I’m so sorry to hear of your cat. I was devastated when I lost a pet 7 years ago, but the sadness did turn into lots of fond memories. Do you still have any other pets?

My dad too has been acting a bit curmudgeonly of late. He decided with the passing of my mother to relocate to my sister and his grandchildren in Cape Town. Now everything required has to be done on the double, such as packing and selling his house. Mrs Haddock and I are assisting him with all of this and the winding up of my mother’s estate, which in some respects certainly requires some patience and a bit of restraint.
Thank you Captain.

It must be very emotional packing up the house and the memories. That alongside the grief and recovering from covid must be very difficult. I think you are very valiant.

me too^^^^ Best of luck Captain. A long term move is always tough, but you'll have a lot of new adventures. Hope dad mellows out a little. I suppose it likely stresses him out. Hope all goes smoothly and be sure to get help if you need it.

All the best CaptainHaddock. I guess there are constant reminders of your mum in his present house, sending positive vibes in these trying times.

Thinking of you CaptainHaddock, there’ll be so much to do before your dad moves house.

Hello fellow weekenders,

Good to hear from all the regulars - thanks Mags for the opener. I'm checking in from the sunny South West and as I walked by the sea over the weekend I thought of you all here with a definite spark of gratitude.

So, work is going well and I've been given a modest pay rise, but unfortunately it has been fuelled of late by too much caffeine and sugar. Not the healthiest way to do things. It's an interesting topic though 'don't sweat the small stuff' etc. I have become a little obsessed with micro-managing everything (except said caffeine and sugar) and it's really not the best use of my time.

Good luck with your house moving Captain, thanks for the photos Kaily, surprised at the London floods Sao, hi to everyone else..

Warm wishes to all as always. Forwards.

Thanks everyone. I am extremely upset about my cat. I spent every single day with him for the last 18 months working from home, and we've have had him about 10 years, I think. We adopted him as an adult.
got news today that my coworker passed away.
You could say that I am 100% overwhelmed, with sadness, anxiety, stress, panic and just overall bad feelings.
the good news is I talk to my doctor tomorrow about my panic and I still wouldn't be able to even consider alcohol due to my anxiety.

You have certainly had a difficult time, Samantha. Hugs.

Hang in there. Tomorrow will be here soon; good that you will be talking to your doctor.

Take a warm, aromatic bath tonight if you can; it will hopefully help to sooth you.

Awwwe. Sorry to here the struggles. Just lost my 16 year old kitty in May. She was lived and lived a good live though. We had her pass at home. We will help her live on by putting her ashes in my new garden when we build our new place in a couple years. It will be nice circle of life. It hurts, though, it hurts.

Kaily, cool tree!

what kind?

Mags thank goodness that task is now closed. Seemed like forever.....

Hello everyone else, too many to remember all, but I do read all.

Not quite a cone flower, unless something comes of that brown bud thing. Truly weird. Not like pink, yellow or purple coneflowers, but very similar....
