Weekenders 04 - 07 June 2021 - Pop, crackle and fizzle
Captain I am so sorry to hear about your mother. My deepest condolences. Cherish the memories. I hope you and your wife and father all get well soon.
Mags thanks for the opening. I am in for another sober weekend. I have to admit I still, at 5 and 1/2 months sober, struggle when I see people drinking on TV or in person. I wish that I could drink moderately. But I know I cannot.
I hope everyone has a good weekend.
This magnolia is blooming in my yard. It is especially for you Captain.

Kaily sorry you bruise easily. It’s a problem I have too. My skin on my arms ‘tears’ and bruises easily, I looked like I’d been beat up last week. I bought some arm ‘sleeves’ to protect but found them too tight.....Is there anything that can be done or said to the annoying neighbour I wonder. Take care. sending you hugs xx
Captain, my sincere condolences. So sorry. As my friend Daisy says, a big gentle hug to you. 💟 RIP to your mom.
Kaily, so sorry you are having neighbor problems. We had horrible neighbors (not that they're so great now, but better than the others). They were scary. Thank the Good Lord they ended up moving! I hope yours do too. I bruise very easily too. My doctor was kind of laughing and said some people just do!
Love and peace to all. Have a wonderful Friday. Glad to be with you all. I'm a little down today, still up and down about losing Luke, but knowing he is in a better place and not suffering makes me feel better. Mostly the days are getting better. Still miss him terribly, his visits in the morning and a little play for an old guy. RIP, my love. 🧡💛💚💙💜

I'm so sorry you lost your mum CaptainHaddock, I bet she was cheered by your sobriety. All the best to your dad, your family and yourself.
Good to see you LoveHateWine.
Sorry about your antisocial neighbours Kaily
Advbike, your photos remind me a lot of my clamber up Ben Nevis (4400ft/1300 mtrs) - I had to watch every step in order not to turn an ankle, it is mentally as well as physically tiring.

I stunk at golf, swing is still off after breaking a bone in my foot before our trip.
the giant sequoia trees were grand, had a private viewing of the Giant Grizzly tree in Yosemite , as we arose at 0545 and was on trail by 0620.
The area had a tornado in January of this year, and many were toppled over. Thanks to the work of National Park Service to have cleared the 61 trees that were blocking the trail.

Free2bme888 - your pictures sound lovely, but for some reason, I can't see them on my MacBook Air. I wonder if it has anything to do with the new upgrade I just did? Seems nothing is working right after I did that. Any tech gurus out there who might know why I can't see pics? It's just blank where a picture should be in the posts. I will say I can see other pictures in other places on my laptop, just not here on this site and in a few e-mails.
It's going to be really hot here tomorrow and we have an outdoor birthday party to go to right in the thick of it all. Good excuse to not stay long. Too hot. LOL.
Hope everyone had a great day.

Had a lovely birthday dinner at a steakhouse with the hubby. When we arrived there was only seating in the bar area (not at the bar but high top tables around around it) him being sweet, said we would wait but I ended up opting to sit there immediately because guess what we would normally do while waiting on a table? Yep. Drinks. So I was getting more anxious waiting. I did face away from the actual bar though. And I learned I sure can eat a hell of a lot more food at a dinner without the booze. Lovely Friday night, now relaxing on the porch with an audiobook and tea. Hope everyone else is having a nice evening.
BeFree, love your photos. Sad to see such giants toppled over by tornadoes.
TheHook, good work on not drinking, you’ll feel better for it I’m sure.
LHW, Enjoy the birthday party. Good to be prepared with some soft drinks for yourself.

Just took Billie for a little late-night walk. That's something I couldn't have done if I were drinking. I'd be too drunk or passed out to walk her. So glad I'm sober! I've never regretted getting sober, but I always regretted getting drunk.
