the trouble with lockdown is that we can't see all the other people who are complying with lockdown because they're all at home complying with lockdown, & we only see the berks who aren't

sleep well Manta, hope you feel better tomorrow x

When you are in an area that has has the highest COViD cases all year in the UK and is getting worse there may be people staying home like me but there are so many more who are not doing so! I am not going to be blindly positive anymore, this is a total **** show, everyone is doing what they want when they want, no consequences and no care for anyone else.

Andy makes a great point.

I don't think anyone wants or needs you to be unstintingly positive about the pandemic but it would be just as bad to let a bunch a numptys steal your happiness too?

Hope things look better in the morning Manta

You guys are not living in the highest restrictions, I am, been like this for at least 8 months where I live so this “you only see the rule breakers” is a nice thing to say but really angers me!! I get it, but look at the stats for the northwest uk and then come with words of wisdom! My anger is not misplaced or wrong.

Covid has had such significant social changes globally. All I can do, parallel with my recovery , is to keep doing the best I can. My prayers to all in these troubling times .

Manta, it is darn annoying that these people could be spreading the virus round. Walk away from the crowds love, knowing that you’re looking after yourself. We can’t do anything about the fools’ behaviour except protect ourselves from the virus.

Andy, The squirrels will have a little box with a lid so the birds can’t get their food.

Leigh, it seems the squirrels only want the nuts so I put nuts in two different places then sunflower hearts and seeds in some hanging bird tables.

Thanks Mags, I got up super early this morning and went for a walk before the streets could fill up a which was nice and felt safer. I’m feeling very sensitive to it all these last couple of days but feeling better today. I think only having a job for 2 more weeks is worrying me a little, not on the financial side just more the potential isolation as work does help and means I do communicate with other people on a daily basis. However, it is what it is and just need to keep pushing on and doing the next right thing each day.

My mum has a squirrel who visits her garden everyday and it burys it’s food behind one of her plants haha.

Bimini wasn't posting at 2 AM so hopefully got a good night's sleep.

I bet an early morning walk was nice manta, especially with few other people out and about.

The squirrels in our yard wreck any bird seed that gets put out and will find a way to get to it. My wife has put out the dried insects but didn't get much interest.

I prefer early morning walks too. Not many folk about.
one of the squirrels started hiding them in the grass and a magpie followed him and taking the nuts, until squirrel chased him away.

Bim, hope you got a good night’s sleep.

CityBoy they can wreck the nut feeders to get to the nuts if they’re not easily accessible.

Evening Weekenders

Hope everyone is keeping well. Not much to report here, I've had one of those lovely quiet days which has been very relaxing. We'll see what the weather brings overnight as heavy snow or sleet is forecast. Hopefully it will be snow but being so close to the sea it may just turn out to be wet sleet rather than white snow.

Good Morning Manta, wood burner sounds good. Stay warm I’m not sure if the snow will get here, so much rain at moment.
