No, but you are British.

We do stuff differently here in Washington as opposed to Florida, too.

Like the fish we call Mahi Mahi is called Dolphin or Dolphin fish in Florida. Washington people are mortified when I say I ate dolphin.

Not arguing Bim, not at all lol. I am a northern English lass and as I am sure Mags, Kaily and Sao (and prob Vman) can tell you we are a little “traditional” lol. Nothing wrong with an English muffin but they are like that Aussie shampoo that is in all our supermarkets but not sold in Aus and no Aussie uses it x. Crazy world we live in x

In the U.S. cakes are sweet....those barm "cakes" look like bread. (?) And are you putting potatoes (chips) on cake?

Haha, barm cake for Yorkshire and tea cake for Lancashire, same thing in my eyes haha. Although in lancs a tea cake is sweet with currents in it so depending on what side of the border you are on dictates what you have to ask for or you might end up with a bacon butty in a current bun haha. I live right on the border so have to think about this more than a person really should lol x

I actually own a London Fog (it's just a brand name) raincoat, umbrella, and rain boots, and I eat English muffins. ::nods:: What are they called over there? Coats and crumpets?

p.s. it doesn't actually rain that much in Seattle either. #antirelocationgimmick
There's still plenty of fog in London. The great smog of London that happened in the 50's was caused by air pollutants, mostly coal and unfortunate weather conditions. London isn't that bad though. You'll find the worst air pollution in the world in India.

When I used to go down to London for nights out in the late 80’s early 90’s we used to play a game called “who has the blackest bogies”. in the 6 hour drive home in the van. The air seemed so dirty if you blew your nose what came out was black, we never got that in the north of UK. x

That's funny. Begs the question of what I would be offered if I visited London. Also, if a londoner would even be able to identify my southern accent. Might be offered sweet tea.

I am not a Londoner so couldn’t comment being a northern lass but I bet money on the fact we would never be able to tell where in the US you were from! We understand generic American, New York and the Deep South but nothing in between. But your country is so huge, we are just 2 x Texas in size lol. x

Bim, I like dolphin but rarely catch them doing the types of fishing I normally do. Also like it when the other type of dolphins play around the boat. Still don't have the nerve to swim with them. You'll be pleased to know that I usually get pikes place roast on the occasional stop at Starbucks.

I think I’m thinking of blueberry muffins
Blueberry muffins are my favourite. I love them served warm and with ice cream. Very nice. Those type of muffins are baked and are more like a mini-cake. They're not the old-fashioned traditional muffins that are called English Muffins. The latter are made from dough and are the type you toast, cut in two and spread butter on. Nice too but not as nice as the first type of muffins.

I did not know that Florida lingo. I would be appalled, too. Like, OMG you ate FLIPPER???

I’ll second that Manta! My in-laws think I’m weird but I’m not, I’m just different to them.

Hiya Weekenders

I’m glad I’ve had my porridge or I’d definitely be wanting a blueberry muffin. My eyes are always bigger than my stomach though.

Marty, pleased you had a good break from computers.

Bim, I imagine it can be a shock to non locals hearing dolphin on the menu!

It blew a gale here last night. It sounded like a big lorry going by.

I’ve just seen the weather forecast and there’s going to be sun today, so we may go for a walk around Normanby Country Park or along the Humber bank under the Humber Bridge. That can be a good bracing walk.

See you later, take care. xxxx
