Sad to report Kitty has not made it home. Since we live in the woods, I suspect she was eaten by something. Hope it was quick. Missing her so much. I also got a call from my work that my hours have been cut due to lack and cancellation of guests. At least it didn't happen due to drinking!
But I will not drink over any of this. Just trying to sit back and admire the beautiful weather we currently have and look into possible job opportunities. Enjoy your weekend all!

Awake, I'm sorry about your kitty. I had a dog once who went missing - the first time it happened I got him back through an ad in the paper, six weeks later. The second time it happened I was living close to a lake with at least one big alligator. I kind of figured the same as you are thinking. I was a free-spirit hippie child and a believer in letting them roam, and there weren't roads nearby - so - it was just nature doing what nature does.

I'm sorry. You never know with cats, though. She may turn up. Wandering little beasts.

Awake, sorry kitty hasn’t returned. . I know how I’d be if one of my two went missing. I also hope you find more hours suitable for you.

I'm sorry to read about your cat Awake, I suppose there still are some natural predators about in NE US. Maine looks a lovely State in photos I've seen. I hope you get some more hours soon and good luck with the job hunting.

Wow, those are impressive decks MesaMan. As a younster I was jealous of my friends dad's Linn deck but that was peanuts compared to those. I strongly suspect that some of them will be powered by 16 volt Maxon Motors. We have had a couple at work for a couple of years now, they are works of art. An IT collegue and myself wanted to build a little robot out of them but my boss won't let anyone use them.

Glad you enjoyed the fair biminiblue. Where to bees go for their holidays?

A.) Stingapore.

Beautiful Picture MesaMan, just my kind of place.

Awake I am so sorry your cat is still missing. And about your working hours. Hope things improve very soon.

Glad you had all the fun at the fair Bim.

Thanks for the kind thoughts, test was really quick so I am taking that as a very good sign!

Hello gang - I'm in! Checking in on Friday night for another sober weekend...

Thanks Mags for the thread. This one's straight to the point - staying sober together is what it's really all about... Nice to see some new names here - welcome.

Sorry Awake to hear about your kitty - we lost one a few years ago and discovered many months later he was living on a neighbouring farm. With cats you never quite know...

Enjoying the discussion of turntables above - thanks Mesa. I have a friend who is into classic soul and spends thousands on vinyl. His turntable is basically the heaviest one he could find while still portable. It's weighty to be 'bump proof' so while he is DJing with his treasured collection it doesn't get scratched by over enthusiastic fans...

Anyway, work tomorrow (though it's going to be hot here) and a family day on Sunday. I'll be hanging around the thread as always....

Warm wishes to all. Forwards.

Sorry awake, don’t give up hope. My cat went missing for a week on a nature preserve. He showed up with his tail nearly cut in half but it healed and was good as new.

Im im for the weekend, day 19 for me. I had such a stressful work week. I had no time to check in, I didn’t even think of drinking during the whole week. I knew it wouldn’t help. I made a lot of money, for me, this week. Probably more than ever earned in a week in my whole life. I think is the stress worth the money? But right now I’m new at my job, it will get easier and financial stability will feel good. I ruined my diet today about it but back on track tomorrow.

It’s gonna be a hot sunny weekend here in U.K. , I’ll be stocking up on fruit juices and ice lollies.

Hope this weekend is a good, sober one for all of us.

Morning Weekenders, another sober Saturday morning has arrived. Well done on earning good money this week mariposa, you're right, it will get easier and not having money can be more stressful than effort of earning it (if that makes sense)

Beautiful morning here and the forecast is set fair for the Bank Holiday weekend , most unusual.
