Glad to see you back MB

I think with HM you're obviously two different, even disparate, personalities and it's better to find that out sooner rather than later.

I hope life will soon have some more zinginess for you

Nice to see you post Midnight.

When a relationship finishes without proper closure it makes a difficult situation even worse. Except for the person that has cut and run without looking back. The cowardly way out.

I dated someone for 3 months that just disappeared. I thought we were getting on great. He would text me daily and we would see each other about three times a week. I was a replier not an instigator but after a few days passed and I hadn't heard from him I text as I was concerned. Nothing. Ever again. Just like that.

Left me feeling rejected confused and hurt.

Time heals.

Hi kbm and Badga, good to see you on Weekenders.

Saou, I had my ‘retirement’ forced on me but it worked out well. I hope if it happens you’ll enjoy it.

Midnight good to see you and pleased your new job is working out.

Bim, I hope you managed to get back to sleep, enjoy the fair today.

MantaLady for not giving in to AV.

So hot here, 26C (78.8F) outside, I imagine the beaches are filling up fast.

I did go back to sleep and stayed in bed until 7:30! That never happens. It was even light outside when I woke up.

Midnight, good to see you. I've never had a breakup that I liked. Even the ones that went like yours - at least I didn't have to get into a more-hurtful "discussion" i.e. argument at the end. I mean, I feel like some things are better left unsaid at the end.

The Fair! Laters!

Evening folks,

I went plodding this morning. About an hour.
Exercise is great for the moral and the head.
I probably looked ambulance ready to any passer bys, but hey I got home.

It's true what they say about the exercise though. It's like happy brain activation.

Happy enough with the different odd jobs and painting and decorating I got done this week.
Work tomorrow morning....
I'd love to retire

Welcome to the weekender anybody who has just joined the thread. Howdy to all the regular weekenders.

Nice to see you back posting MB.

See you all tomorrow.

Taking a few spare minutes to post. I have a hectic day of errands, I need to be prepared for the work week when I will have zero time. I did two hours in the gym this morning again. Now I’m exhausted and have a million errands.

It occurred to me in yoga today “how would I ever have time to spend drinking?” Really, what ever could get done during a drunk weekend? Life gets so disorganized and chaotic when I waste it on binge all day drinking. Glad to be working away fixing my mess and maintaining at least the ability to show up somewhat clearheaded for the last three weeks.

Yes, Kaily, I feel exactly like that.

Bim - There is a point in what you say about some words left unsaid. Still sucks though. But I like the song)

Dee - I wasn't aware that is was so obvious we are different. I probably still don't quite realize it.

Time for me to call it a day, a busy week ahead.

See you)

I just meant different in how you handle something like a breakup MB - no offence or criticism intended at all

Work and lack of it. Always a worry, for me and everyone. Sao, that small chance of forced retirement doesn't sound like a good thing, or is it?
Sorry you were awake so early bim, I hope you sleep better tonight.

You're quite right, the potential forced retirement would not be good. Firsy there is the money and secondly i'm bound to turn into a weirdo after a month or two without mixing with normal people. So many other single retired guys seem to turn into obsessives once they retire (and i'm quite geeky already). It is a concern.

Good to see you MidnightBlue that is typically cowardly blokeish way to break up a relationship, he's not the only one like that. You're probably much better of without him in your life. You have missed some pretty earth shattering events since you last posted. I now have a new stapler work. A silver one.

Kaily I reckon that guy you were posting about probably had a wife, girlfriend or significant other which caused him to stop calling and seeing you. That would account for his behaviour imo.

Long weekend in the UK and unusually it's a scorcher.

Good to see you MB and glad job is working out.

HM did take the coward’s way. You deserve better.
Did you leave the boxing gym because of him?

Sao, what is forced retirement?

Poor ol' fluffy puppy is not well. He's got a tummy bug, which meant we woke up to quite the mess on the living room carpet. And then later on in other areas of the house. He still his same old playful self so not thinking vet's just yet. Hydration and tiny bits of bland food for now. I've put up baby gates and lifted carpets to mitigate any surprises I may find in the morning.

Hi MB

Hiya Weekenders, it’s bank holiday Monday in the U.K. quiet as a dormouse.

Dragon, sorry to hear fluffy puppy not well. Hope it was just a day thing.

Saou are your kinda jobs few and far between in London? I hope it all works out.

Vinny your day will come all too quickly for retirement.

We’re off to Normanby Country Park later for a stroll round. There’s a fair on with stalls of home made produce, which I’m sure I’ll be bringing some home, and lots for kids to do. It’ll be heaving because of the fine weather, if we don’t get there early there’s a queue for car parking.

See you later.

This made me laugh.
So the story goes Saouchik retired and turned into a weirdo. We never saw him again. Rumour has it he became obsessed playing with action man figures, home alone. Only ever eating baked beans. It was a rapid demise...

Kaily I reckon that guy you were posting about probably had a wife, girlfriend or significant other which caused him to stop calling and seeing you. That would account for his behaviour imo.
Yikes I went to bed a nice lady and have woken up a mistress.

STDragon I hope fluff pup makes a quick recovery. Don't forget if you do think it is necessary to visit the vet in a few days always good to take a sample with you. His not yours of course...

Have a nice day at the fair Mags, think you might need a parasol though.

Off to the forest now before it gets hot!

Morning gang.

Hawkeye/Mags "forced" is probably the wrong word, involuntary would be more accurate. I work in sales for a light engineering supply company and our sales to the European mainland are drying up and they are not stellar domestically. I am 59 so it would not be easy to find another job and if I did I would be under a lot more pressure than I am now. It's not going to happen this year but it is a cloud in the middle distance.

Sorry to hear about Fluffy, I hope he is feeling better today. I'm sending positive vibes his way.

Congratulations to all of you who made it through the weekend.
