‘Fridge Light was Out’ - Weekenders 10 - 13 May 2019
Hi Everyone,
May I join you for another sober weekend please? Feeling a bit wobbly today (Day 130) - just the usual anxiety and some strange characters about in town earlier...
Otherwise, I'm feeling fairly optimistic this week. I've just been offered another small work project to add to the growing list - great in theory but it's a bit daunting in its complexity. I guess a challenge is always welcome.
Anyway, good to see you all here. Onwards!
Forwards.

Mrs. Dragon must be so pleased.
Thanks, I wish I had a before pic, it's was real scary. I guess I was dreaming when I though I could have it all done in 12 days. Turned out alright tho, Mrs. Dragon is excited to choose colors, base boards and a new vanity. And I have one other 'feature' I'll be adding in that space above the tub.
Yeah, I looked too, Dragon. Quite a project!
Well done.
Kaily and Forwards - if you have to, stay logged in to this site! I spent many many hours glued to various threads both new and old.
Drinking is never the solution, I figured if I didn't have to drink yesterday I don't have to drink today. Just talk back to it, "Thanks for piping up, but I DON'T DRINK."
It's downright hot here today. The new windows are keeping it remarkably cool inside - so far. It's only 3PM, we'll see how sleep goes.
That lioness is huge!
The lioness at our zoo got her tubes tied this past week and then promptly chewed out the stitches. I guess you can't really use the cone of shame on a lioness.
Time to fix dinner. Hang on Kaily and Forwards. There is nothing for you in the bottom of a bottle.

Agreing with the others Mesa, you finished of that post beautifully.
I lost my mom a number of years ago while still in active alcohol numbness. I don't think I ever found the capabililty to properly grieve. But in sobriety, and partly due to the loss of my mother, I have a great gratitude for still having my father. He come's over several times weekly. Feisty old guy, not being able to lift his motercycle, (should it tip over) at the age of 82 he just bought himself a Ryker.
His dog rides with him on the moterbike, so he's already outfited the Ryker with a dog seat too.

Dragon, Brilliant, your father certainly has spirit, I love that his dog rides with him on the Ryker and it’s very own seat!
It’s great to have this sober time with your dad. I think sobriety really brings us gratitude.

I was just at the Keepers' Tiger Talk today. We have Malayan tigers at the zoo and they aren't huge, but the keeper said [some version of] tigers can get three times as big as the ones we have. I was tuned out/didn't care to hear what kind.
Food just dinged! Have a sober Friday night everyone.
Hugs to all those not feeling great this weekend.
I hope you feel a little better Kaily - and Forwards - keep reaching out...the best advice I can give right now is noone ever regretted not drinking last night

Welcome to Weekenders Forwards. You too Happyvale.
Hugs Kaily, petals.
I doth my cowl at thee Dragon, that is some good work there. I'm impressed that your dad drives a quad bike too.
MesaMan you have a great way with words. I have not heard it called that before.
There are some extraordinary kinetic energy transfers taking place in the first of Andyh's GiFs.
3rd out of 7 tonight at Crazy Golf which I consider a triumph after last week.

Doesn't sound all that tasty, but what do I know?
Thanks
*ets: of course - if I search for hollix, "horlicks" comes up.
I'll just be over here in Google purgatory. I'm now one of those people for whom LMGTFY was created.
