I hope you’re warm enough Bim. Can you do some yoga stretches or something similar inside? That might help you feel a bit more settled if you can’t get outside at the moment. I know when I can’t get out to exercise I go a bit stir crazy...

I hope you feel better in the morning and it doesn’t develop into a full blown cold Manta. Hot honey and lemon drinks are really great. I used to think it was an old myth, but the honey and the lemon both have great medicinal properties.

I slept quite well. It’s so peaceful here, it’s just the break away I needed. I can hear the magpies carolling in the trees outside my window more comforting childhood memories thanks for all your support on the work front. I know I’m not the only one here in a similar situation. And I know it will work out somehow. My mum always used to say that too ❤️ It will work out somehow

Boo! Woke up this morning with a mouth as dry as the Gobi and a head full of snot!! I have that all day interview today too so couldn’t be more inconvenient timing if it tried lol. I thought this would pass and not turn into a real cold but overnight I have turned into slimer off Ghostbusters!!

Oh well, time to get dressed and look all professional xx

Yesterday a weird thing happened - hr people from my pre-former employer came across my CV at a job hunting site and reached out to me about a job. It's a big state-owned company and entirely different department within it.

They sent me some tests to do because it requires certain qualifications. I don't know though. Last night I was panicking because on one hand I really need a job, on the other hand I am feeling like I am falling into the trap of looking in the past again.

My head is splitting.

Courage to you both Manta and MB.
MB can you ask for a trial period to see if it suits and if you like it?

Morning, Vinny.

The biggest issue with the company (well, one of them) is that it takes about a month just to go through all the formalities to even get to a trial period. And I am not sure I am ready to spend this amount of time again.

Well, I know I have to do the tests first. But still...

Morning Weekenders.

Sorry about your cold Manta, especially the timing. Good luck with the interview.

MidnightBlue that's great news about the job. Do a really good job on the tests and give yourself the chouce of wether to take the job or leave it.. Remember there is nothing to stop you from continuing to look for other jobs, even if you were to start at this one and it would be great for your peace of mind to know you have an income coming in.

good luck today Manta - hope you're not too snotty

MB - what Sao said really. this job doesn't have to be for ever - you don't even have to take it if something else comes up in the meantime.

I'm still waiting to hear back about my interview from Monday - I'm taking no news to be good news for now. I now have an interview for another job tomorrow. honestly, interviews are like buses - you wait for ages & then three come along at once.

That's great news AndyH!

My boss is off with the cold today, unusual for him so he must be feeling rough. He sounded like Stephen Hawking on the phone

Usually I would be stressed but we are quietish at work so I don't have to keep making decisions about what to prioritise. He had better be back by Friday though as I want to get out for the day.

2nd half of the week already, that's good but I don't want to wish my life away.

I felt like death all day and was hard getting through a 5.5 hour interview process feeling this way. However, they called me a few hours after I left and offered me the job! I am going to sleep on it overnight as I just feel so ill I can’t think about it right now lol. Have you done a pro and con list for going back to the same place as before MB? It’s a tough one to work out what to do I imagine but you’ll do the right thing I am sure! xx
