Weekender Thread 8-11 February 2019
Thanks Dee and Manta! I stayed right away from the bar. But then the flight had complementary wine! I came so close. The AV nearly had me convinced that a lovely red wine would be just lovely... especially as I watched it being poured into the cup of the lady sitting next to me and then watched her cup get filled up again. I just kept telling myself what would happen next. One wouldn’t be enough. Two wouldn’t be enough. Then I’d be scrabbling around at my destination trying desperately to find a way to keep drinking voraciously all night, trying to hide how much I was actually drinking from my companions, until bedtime! So I’m at the next airport waiting away from the bar again for my second flight, nursing another coffee. I will not give in to the lying AV. There’s nothing “lovely “ about the amount I used to drink.
Well done Willow, drinking will on planes makes most of us feel lousy come disembarcation time at least it always did for me.
Coffee time here, Purplrks and other pooch lovers might me interested to know there is now have a pop up canine art gallery near me. Hmmm...

Morning, weekenders.
I haven't had time to catch up with your posts yet. So, I'll get back to it later.
For now I had a very good sleep and need more coffee)

You can be proud of yourself Willow.
I don't know if I would have been as strong.
Morning weekenders.
I got out of bed at 10h30
Family in-law get together dinner today.
Mrs vman is chopping and sizzling - I have, have to feed the dog excuse...

So glad not be held hostage by that crap anymore
Had a drinking dream last night. It started with a sip out of a large bottle but then it turned into a garbage bag sized rubber bladder of booze. I was trying to hide from everyone yet carry it with me. Very symbolic of what it would be like if we picked up again. Good job resisting Willow.
On a brighter note, I got a good deal on some forstner bits yesterday, Can't wait to try them out today.

Afternoon everyone and well done Willow. Believe it or not but I am sitting at an airport myself, waiting to board...the people here are having some drinks but I managed to stick with a dry lemon and Fanta grape thus far.
Still have power. Thank you baby Jesus.
My friend was without power all day yesterday and she couldn't get out of her place and had no heat. I was worried for her, but her power came back on just before dusk. I have another friend who took a six hour walk in the snow just to take pictures and to get down to the park where we normally meet up - two days in a row, six miles each time in nearly a foot of snow. She's a tough little thing! Tiny little Russian lady nearly 50 years old. She sent me a bunch of pictures.
Lots of snow still. C'mon warmer weather.
I kinda feel like I shouldn't have said, "It never sticks." :-|

I'm cooking up some chicken, I have some canned food. Not any fresh vegetables, but who likes vegetables anyway! Several days in a row of weather issues is just really unusual for this area. It's supposed to get up to 40*F - so like 5*C - on Tuesday...hopeful.
Nah, I'll be okay. Momentary panic, but I talked myself down.

Beautiful Sunday morning in sunny CA today! Today I WILL work on taxes, write some insurance letter for a friend, AND get a facial! Oh, I am going to walk today too (I usually walk about 2 1/2 mi. each day). As for airports, I remember that I used to order 2 bottles of whatever I was drinking the first time the attendant came around. God forbid I should have to wait for the attendant again! When I got sober (that time) I was SHOCKED at how many people did NOT drink (especially like me)...so hurray for you Bimini!!!!
