I dream of that too MB. I find water, specifically the ocean to be so calming and cleansing. One of the meditations I do on the insight timer is where you imagine yourself sitting in the water and the sky is black and grey and the sea swell is big and angry and there are crashing waves, you then start to see the sky get blue and the clouds disappear and the water gets calmer and calmer till it's almost like a still glass mirror, you then breathe with the soft slow beat of the ocean. Everytime a thought or a trouble pops into your mind you visualise placing it on a raft and watching it drift out to sea, as it moves further and further away you feel the negative emotion or thought leaving your body.

It's really effective x

I love being by the sea, MidnightBlue.

There's always something happening - tides going out and coming in, patterns on sand, shellfish on rocks, birds diving, interesting flotsam, the salt air, and the seemingly limitless horizon.

Very good place to just stand and Be.

That's a shame Andy There is a lot of snobbery in the UK dive world and BSAC (British Sub Aqua Club) and PADI (Professional Association of Diving Instructors) I have a big rivalry. The BSAC diving qualification is much harder to get but PADI is handed out like candy to anyone that wants a certificate and many that should not really be in the water at all. One day I heard a diver refer to PADI as "Pay and Die Internationally" which tickled me some. x

This meditation sounds great, Manta.

How is it called? I use Insight Timer to, I'd give it a try.

There are two that I use with that visualisation MB, a short one of 15 minutes which is called "Body Scan for Deep Relaxation" by Camilla Sacre-Dallerup and the other one is 45 minutes and called "Deep Relaxation and Anchoring Confidence" by Barb Aasen. They both have a little bit of different visualisation but I have kind of mixed the two together and use the one I described earlier in both meditations. x

The ocean really is calming. I love the soothing sound of the waves, and I find a walk along the beach a really good way to clear the crap out of my head, almost like the sea breeze blows it all away. I lived inland away from the ocean for a short time years ago, and I missed the ocean so much. I don’t think I’d want to ever live too far from it again. I am very grateful to live near the sea ❤️

Day 15. Worked out for the first time in forever. Trying to get my stamina at home doing spin. It's so nice to be able to workout in the afternoon or any time of day or night. I started blowing off working out when I started drinking earlier and earlier. It really felt good and I'm excited to keep it up.

I haven't been diving in thirty plus years but would love to go again.
One interesting thing we did was Spring diving to clean the salt water out of our wetsuits.

Beautiful clear water and sometimes really deep and interesting.

I'm going to try that meditation as I use insight timer too--

Welcome to Weekenders HopefulYear.

Fascinating reading about people's diving and sea experiences. This photo I took some time ago of three dots on the horizon is the topmost remains of the wreck of the USS Richard Montgomery which sank full of munitions in 1944. I doubt it is dangerous now but scientists say there is still a chance it could go pop.

BBC - Future - The bombs that lurk off the UK coast

Freezing this morning, it was a struggle getting out of bed.

A friend sent me something this morning. I immediately thought of Gilmer. I don’t know the author but the last three sentences were amazing:

”When the great oak is straining in the wind,
The boughs drink in new beauty, and the trunk
Sends down deeper root on the windward side.
Only the soul that knows the mighty grief,
Can know the mighty rapture. Sorrows come
To stretch out places in the heart for joy.”

We have experienced a great loss and we share our common grief. In doing so, we grow strong to help one another in our future sorrows and to share in each others future joys.
