There are a lot of temptations around during holidays time. But it's just another day, keep the bigger picture in mind.

So, I get this letter at the office of the rehab and they can't wait to ask: "Where's this from?"
I look and answer: "Russia"

A friend from my online support group. It was a card from MidnightBlue! (I hope the Christmas card got there in time, MB)
Then, came one from Scotland, then from the Vman: an Irish card from a French resident mailed from Ireland(with no return address, I might add). These added to the usual weekly cards from several states. My international support group. Some want to know where to get 180,000 people on their team. I tell them.
116 days now, no alcohol, no nicotine, no anything. In about 5 weeks, I'll be job hunting then I can move to the transitional housing and work on getting a car. I can have my phone back and internet access, more overnite passes to get out.
So, thanks for the support! I'm getting there.

Sober Christmas morning here in the 'peg. I think I may have lost my soprano Ukulele. Yesterday, one of my nieces little girls was hangin' on to it and playing with it all night then asked if we could brining it over when we visit today. It may very well end up being left behind. (Then I'll have an excuse to buy myself a new one).

Wow, so a few years ago, my son gave me a shirt with six beers on it depicting my 'six pack'. This year, he gave me a plaque that says "I'm on Aloha time". Just goes to show how people's view of you can change.

Merry Christmas to you all! Thankful to wake with a clear head this morning and to have been able to stay busy and not set up camp in my head. Even though I am alone today, I am sober and in good spirits and have been productive. Hope everyone has as good of a sober Christmas day as they can!

Enjoy Game of Thrones dafunbra, I swear my youngest daughter models herself on Cersei Lannister
So for only the second time in my life I was breathalysed though not by the metropolitan police but the local bumpkin force where my sister lives. They were broken men when my "score" came up as zero. I must say it is a lot less stressful being tested when you've not drunk any booze for close on four years.

I love GoT. Knocked out seasons 6 and 7 last night. Had seen them before, but only once each. Cersei is not a very nice woman. I like the Hound and Bronn. Everyone have a great rest of your night. Holiday long weekend is almost over.
Also, its amazing what a difference in attitude a simple phone call can make. GF (??) called me and we spoke for about an hour. I get her position. Inside she wants to believe I'm really changing this time and done with the drink. But she can't trust it. I get it. I hate it, but I get it. Keep putting one foot in front of the other and doing the next right thing. All I can do. The conversation didn't even go particularly well. She is dating other men, which is a nice little burr in my side. But I don't think if she didn't want to believe she would have made the call or stayed on the phone with me that long. Just have to show her and pray, which is what I've been doing anyway. I'm turning it over to God. All I can do.
