Happy soberversary Gilmer!!

Just got a quarter of the bathroom ceiling to finish and then I can start steam cleaning the bathroom! Tonight I am going to treat myself to a detox bath with dead sea salts, candles and frankensense on the oil burner in my newly painted, finished and spotlessly clean bathroom! So exciting!!

Good morning one and all.

Daughter and I are off to Ukulele class today (yay). You could say that we both used music therapy to recover.

Good morning all.

Dragon, I suggest a trip to Hawaii. Plenty of ukulele action over there plus you can road trip around the island or just sit on the lanai and strum away!

Manta, I’m a devoted shower guy, but your post made even me want a good soak!

Wishing each of you the best day.

That may have been what started it. I was in the island of Oahu for 10 glorious sober days in March of 2017. On my first day we visited the polynesian cultural center where in the gift shop we messed about with some Ukuleles. Of course I didn't know a darn thing about them. It was shortly after my return that I bought my first Uke. It's a dream of mine to return and make a video playing on one of the beaches.

That’s a great story Dragon! I’ve not been to Oahu, but I can say that Maui and Kauai are fantastic. I have a feeling you’ll be able to make that dream come true, maybe your daughter could play with you in the vid too. What a great memory that’d make!

Sober Saturday morning. Excellent.

I've spent a lot of time at the zoo this week hoping to get a glimpse at Kwame, the new Silverback. I was fortunate enough to be there when this was filmed on Thursday. The zookeeper actually shared a lot of info with the reporter other than this short video, I was so lucky to be able to hear the backstory.

This male Western Lowland Gorilla is impressive in real life. And yeah, the four females in his new family here really really like him.

He is definitely in charge. I think the reporter was startled when he did his display thing. She certainly moved away from the glass.

Gilmer, the gorilla came from The National Zoo. Your neighborhood, kinda.

Football was great. The score was 0-0, but it was a good afternoon.

I was offered a free glass of prosecco alongside the rest of the group. Everyone else said yes, then it came to my turn, I strongly asked "Do you have any soft drinks?"

In the grand scheme of things, it's nothing much, the afternoon went on, but in that brief moment I could have thrown away 139 days and didn't.

Back home now, time to enjoy the rest of the weekend.

We have a meeting tomorrow morning regarding the quarry I spoke about. It seems like the Mayor is all for it...

Anyway goodnight weekenders.

Android or iPhone vman? I am on iPhone and if I keep my finger pressed on the refresh icon “request desktop site” pops up to select.

My AV came at me strong today. I didn’t expect it. We went for massages and pedicures and parked our bikes at my favorite beach bar. Afterward it was sunset and the music and beers were flowing, everyone looked happy. I had to white knuckle and tell myself, there’s always next weekend, or the next. It’s because I don’t want to drink I avoid the beach and the swimming pool, huge triggers for me. I bought my fiancé two tall beers and Coke Zero for me at the store and got home quickly to make pizza with him and Netflix. I got through it but the temptation was strong on day 10.

Glad you made it through mariposa. I really had to avoid those trigger environments for a good long while. Congratulations on double digit days and I hope the pizza was good!

I hope you have an early bedtime to stave off any further tortured thoughts, Mariposa.

Having gotten through this afternoon successfully, you will feel good and much stronger in the morning.
