Thank you Bim!

Yeah I kinda enjoy being a waitress... Having to talk to so many people every day did wonders to my social anxiety. I had A LOT of different jobs, from immigration office assistant (I very briefly wanted to become a lawyer LOL) to night shift worker in a slaughterhouse, waiting tables is definitely not the worst job out there.

I think a few of the most valuable lessons I learned being a waitress were:

1. Treat everyone the same.
2. People are in bad moods when they're hungry. Once they have food, they're much nicer.
3. Many people don't like certain foods. Mostly it seems it's onions, tomatoes, olives and broccoli. Oh! - mushrooms. Lesson: Everyone is different. No use getting upset about it.
4. Not much in this world is about me.

I’m nearly finished with my shift for today, so my AV is loud and annoying... I’m trying to think about my goals and playing the tape forward and it works. I’ve been drunk literally thousands and thousands of times, I don’t think I’m missing out on anything...

Haha yeah I hate that... and I hate when people ask me what we’ve got when they have menus right in front of them. Umm what kind of soft drinks do you have... oh if only there was some sort of list of everything we serve...

I have been a waitress as well.
Most stressful part for me were the bloody outfits.
I don't like wearing skirts/dresses and one gig I had was at a Reception Centre.

Ha Venus, that’s funny, I’m the opposite. I LOVE all the skirts and dresses... girly girl here... and at work I can only wear black trousers and it makes me sooooo uncomfortable.

I think the last time anyone saw comfy me in a skirt or a dress was 1969 If I try to wear one it always looks like I've stolen it from someone! I've waitressed / bar attended too. I appreciate the effort it takes and the lady with the clicky fingers is lucky you're such a lovely person Snuf or with that attitude she might well have been wearing her food if she'd signalled someone else. x

Aww thank you Yixi! She was extremely rude, I was right there - clearing their table, she could have told me what she wanted without snapping fingers in my face... Eh, whatevs. Majority of our customers are very nice.

I’m home now, gonna make myself something yummy for dinner.

I had a pic of my uniform somwhere... We have to wear these stupid massive badges on our aprons... PAY-WITH-OUR-APP... heyy look at my crotch, there is something written there!

"Pay with our App"? How does that work? I mean, does it work well? How does the server know they've paid?

I'm old-school though. We had to carry our own bank - there was no cashier - and we were held responsible for dine-and-dash occurrences. I watched my tables like a mama hawk. I am not paying for your dinner.

Excuse my bathroom selfie, but here it is. I hate the badges. If it was up to me, I'd wear a floral dress ...I kinda like the red apron tho.



Bim, we don't use pen and paper to take orders, we have a hand-held ordering system, every server has a restaurant 'mobile' - kinda like an iPhone - with all the tables on it, and you can see who paid etc... so people can download the app and pay with it.
We still carry our own money, change etc and we're responsible for it. In two years I've been working there I had two tables ran without paying, but we don't have to cover their bill if that happens.

Ha it's our ugly logo. Could have been worse I guess, at least it's kinda simple and a shirt is black. Like, Mcdonalds uniform colour in the UK is so unflattering; who came up with this yellow-ish green??? (I think only Snufkin on my avatar can pull it off haha)

Yum.....I love scones. With jam and cream of course....cream like nobody will ever have in America....such a shame.....

I would actually love some pumpkin scones and butter.
