Strength to you to face and solve your issues Ghoster. Coming here to talk about it is a good first step, and of course choosing to not drink is also a good move. Are you seeing someone that might be able to help you with some of these struggles?

I'm getting into lazy mode when I get home from work which is usually around 3 am
I'm not tired so I put on the frying pan
Make omelette on toast sometimes with bacon and have two coffees
And something sugary.
But ive also found a 24 hr gym 5 mins from where I work.
I need to join the gym
Fear is trying to block me I haven't been to a gym in 30 years.
I've done quite a bit of running on and off in recent times but never gym.
I know what I need to do.
Because this is my 3rd week at new job
And I am seeing this getting home at 3 am a danger or an opportunity.
I'm couch potatoing with food and films.
It's not drinking but its not healthy.
The resistance in me is strong
But I'll only get out of this recovery what I put into it.
True recovery begins where my comfort zone ends!!

Those cravings for sugary foods and to a lesser extent junk food are super common in early recovery Ghoster. I and many others experienced the same. At this stage I would not be too hard on yourself about it. In some ways it is good that you are working during the evenings when the cravings are at their peak for most of us. Perhaps if you could avoid the coffees you would be able to sleep once you got home. You could also walk or run instead of going to the gym both of which are free activities though it would be best not to do them at 3am.

You are doing great anyway!

3rd week new job 23 days me sober!☺
Sober living
Successful experiences
Pain at times but no overwhelm
Thinking of others especially my lovely family
My inspirational sponsor
My miracle Higher Power!
I often feel hesitant when championing my HP in case I upset atheists or non believers.
Why is that?
Truth is this is my life my recovery and I have a HP... Fact. It's saving my life and its empowering me.
It's just too cryptic to express what this feels like but I know it's real.
I have after long last actually reached my turning point
I am in recovery
The tears of my years are intermittently showing up
Sobriety is allowing them to leak out down my cheeks.

27 days is awesome!

Next time you walk past a mirror, look at yourself and say, "27 days sober - I did that for YOU!"
It might sound silly, but I told the guy in my mirror he was an idiot and a low-life for decades and I never thought that was silly. Give saying something nice a try. You earned it.

Maybe you've also earned a new thread. The title on this one doesn't seem to fit you any longer.
