Let's hear it for our Furry (and not so furry) Friends Weekender 19-21st May.
I have had a really really really stressful week. Today in particular was awful - at work that is. I met my dad for tea in the evening because he was in town.
Truthfully I had planned to drink tonight. I was going to go to a bar and have a few drinks but I decided to go home instead. Then I was going to go to the shop near my house but I decided to go home for a nap and get the wine later. So I got home and undressed and got into bed and slept for about an hour. Then I woke up and logged on here and read Lady Blue's thread about "playing the tape" (sorry if I misspelled your name - I can't write LB as when I see LB written here I think LBrain is back). So I did "play the tape" of me buying the wine, bringing it home, drinking and listening to music, the brief "high" of about 10 minutes and then the pounding anxiety which lasts for days. My anxiety is bad enough without any extras, so I didn't get any wine. I did cook some chicken and pasta and I have chocolate here.
So thank you Lady Blue for helping me to NOT drink tonight.
I just wanted to get that off my chest. Feel better now.

Woke up at 4ish with bad abdominal pain, which after ruling out pancreatitis and gallbladder disease (lol) I decided it was just trapped gas.. but it woke me up again and again.. got up at 7, figuring moving around would help.. but it kept hurting especially when I drank soda.. HAHAHA but I hate water and like a steady stream of caffeine throughout the day, especially if I'm studying.. after a google search, decided to try activated charcoal.. the gas is still in the same spot... gonna take some more before bed... UGH! Never had this happen before, it really hurts! Any tips anyone?
Sorry Brenda, no advice how to get rid of it. Last time I had bad abdominal pain I ended up having an emergency appendectomy. Maybe go to ER?
Glad to hear about your success story Tetra, good job!

So I have an exciting Sunday to look forward too. I have a friend who's in the air force reserves and I've been invited to go up in a training glider. He's a qualified instructor and the reserves allow the instructors to take civilians up once and awhile. I'm also taking my son.
This little lizard came home in late 2005. It put me in the hospital early in 2006 with septicemia.

I just went to put some new sheets on a bed and I found a jumping bristletail in the closet. It quickly dashed out of the light.
Probably not dangerous, but I imagine it would be the creepiest thing ever to feel it running up your neck in the night!

OMG STDragon! That's awful, and so sorry. The little lizards I was describing are really sweet and you can hold them in your hand. The one you showed looks really scary.
And a bristletail Gilmer. Glad it wasn'tit dangerous but can be scary when insects and stuff go whizzing by could have finished up in your bed. Eek!

I have loved this thread. So grateful to see all your furbabies! <3
I just picked up my oldest pup's ashes from the vet today.
Keeping his happy face in my thoughts. My other pup, Maggie my Jack Russell terrier is pretty sad without him. I have never seen her so blah before.
I also have a fat white cat that takes everything because she's so grateful to be not a farm cat anymore. Her name is Tooloose.
We also have a Garfield kitten.

In for the weekend. Threat, haha, Sao, gave me a chuckle!
Long weekend here and I feel lonely, won't see anyone, but very thankful for SR, and always being able to connect.
Dragon, have fun on Sunday! I'm envious!

Hi Weekenders, just to let you know that I may not be around for the next day or two as my mum is likely to pass away soon but keep posting and remember the rule - post before picking up.
