Just finished the last of Nurse Jackie. .....I loved the whole series but it ended up being very depressing. Wow.
I think I'll take a break from binge series....
all this talk about food has me hungry. I think I'll make a pork butt in the crockpot this weekend. I just put salt and pepper and a little liquid smoke on it and imagine I'm at a luau in Hawaii.
I've done very well this week. No sweets at all....no ice cream. Oh yeah, except for a vanilla cone at McDonald's yesterday. It's better than a whole pint of Ben and Jerry's.
Ok...I think I'll see if anything is on tv...or maybe read. I need to get my mind off the nurse jackie ending. Yuck. Ugh.
I've got a really long day tomorrow at work.

HaF, good luck tomorrow. Is there anything you can do to treat yourself so it isn't too rough? I try to keep in mind that I'll go meet a friend at a 7:00 AA meeting and that helps. That and "this too shall pass."

All this cooking talk. I've had a taste for au gratin potatoes lately. Maybe I'll break out my mandoline this weekend.

Time to relax before bed. Haircut is good.

I've read over and over on here how eating is important in these early days even when you don't feel like it. It really is SO true. While I can't say I'm feeling anywhere near good, I do feel a little calmer and focused when I eat. Lunch is done, I think I ate too much, but better than drinking!
You will find yourself enjoying food again! Definitely remember to eat (remember HALT too) and start treating yourself to good food. Stick close to SR and this thread over the weekend. You can do it and it will feel fabulous!

Hi to everyone, welcome to all newcomers.

Hey all, I think you're all sleeping. Well, Sao will be up soon.

I went to the two meetings and they were awesome. I got a couple phone numbers and ppl were very cool and supportive.

Sometimes I get worried about going to meetings bc I used to drink after them. But tonight the message was needed and received, and I am so glad I went.

I think I should step back from Sober Chef bc he makes me think alcoholically, probably through no fault of his own. It's a dangerous game. And I'm going to tell him the truth about that. If he cuddles me into submission, I can always reevaluate. I don't need to make any sweeping statements. He's not a bad guy. I just need to be very careful bc I am in danger of drinking and I need to never pretend that's not happening. I'm not 100% well and I can't put a boyfriend on that as if it were a bandaid.

That's all I got for now. xoxo

Hi Melina, morning everyone

Kinzoku - I hope you have recovered

It has started to get light at 6am now so I can see where I'm jogging. Yesterday was payday - I certainly earned it, 16 hours yesterday. I won't be repeating that today

That was me hawkeye haha.

Ok, home from work, it's 11:30, which is better than the 2 am I was thinking.
Though it really should be 2 am, but I was at an empty mansioney place and it was giving me the creeps.
Then I realized that I needed to go into the basement utility room to turn the water on, and that was more than I could take creepy wise.
I'll sleep for a few hours and go back to do it at 6 am to return keys by 8 am.

I've noticed that I really don't want to drink, normally on these late work nights I would come home to wine, then I would white knuckle it as I was trying to sober up.
Now you couldn't pay me to drink it.
Gonna try to sleep.
Xoxo

I messed up my sleep by taking a long nap today and now I'm screwed. I'm going to pray to Saint Netflix.

Morning everyone!!!

That sucks GS.

Kinzoku hope you are feeling better. That does not sound like fun.

Could not sleep so I got up for some soda water. Back to bed to see if I can get some more sleep.

Later!

There seems to be a wave of insomnia spreading throughout the America's and Canada!!!

I just realised something. Now that I am a non-drinker, I will never have to get a taxi again. I will save a small fortune.

I don't have insomnia, but my dogs usually wake me up in the middle of the night to go out. I guess it's better than them peeing in the house.
