I took me a while to work at that work was work.
Yes I had friends there, yes I there were people that I liked, but it was just work.
Most work colleagues didn't have my best interests at heart really. Not like true friends did. People who really cared.
So when that thinking comes along - it would be worse to not go, I wouldn't even let yourself think like that.
Its work. Your health, well being, self esteem etc etc is so much more important than a boozy work do.
Drinking at work, as in social knee's up's, might have been fun for everyone else, but not for me.
I ended up having too much to drink, worrying about what I said or what I did.
I'm glad you are here.
Now get to Tesco's, get some sleepy time tea, a good book, some chocolate or some doughnuts and get a good nights sleep.
Thank you Mike. Tommorow eve after work is my personal test but am booked in at a local Badminton club. I am v anxious but know that going will really help my issues. Happy Sunday eve dudes 😊
Badminton is great fun and definitely will help you make new sober friends and get in shape.
You will also need to have a plan for when the cravings hit and also for when everything is peachy and that nasty little voice tells you that you are doing so good that a drink or two can't hurt. Do you have a plan to deal with that?

Ooops - we posted at the same time. I'm sorry about your sleep troubles. Mine lasted for a few weeks. As I 'came to' after being numb all the time, I obsessed over the past for awhile. I had many things to feel ashamed of, but I know it wasn't the real me who did those things. The alcoholic me is the exact opposite of who I am. Please be patient & kind to yourself feren.
Hi, shaky and had a shocker of a day at work. Other issues outside of work ce soir. Can't sleep there's a lady I'm meeting in 2 weeks from online dating dreading it. I know not a big deal really and sounds quite pathetic just posting thoughts helps me atm.

Cancel the date if needs be.
Potential relationships can wait until you are in a better place.
Maybe its better to focus on feeling better.
Why not rest a lot, work, get some good sleep, put yourself under no unneeded stress or pressure, eat good food, be around friends and family?
In a few days time you will feel different again.
You might be still having physical effects from the booze that are making you feel shaky.
It will all be okay in the end xx
