Thanks Arry

I have some stuff planned. She has a local boyfriend so we'll see how much of it actually happens. But we already had a nice few hours in the car yesterday. As the kids get older each of those moments become more precious.

Have a great weekend!

I'm on day 6. I pretty much slept for the first 4 days. Hang in there!

I'm in for the weekend. I have a good book that I've reserved waiting at the library for me. Looking forward to escaping in those pages and nibbling on bacon.

Philly16 and fortworth... Welcome to SR and welcome to the weekender thread.

Sleeping is a good tool. I went to bed right after work for a while until I could get past those after work cravings. Nothing wrong with it.

Good to see you trickyDave! A nice bowl of bacon bits is as good as any snack! I am sure non would agree.

I decided to cancel my counseling appointment as I'm exhausted and really need to head home after work and just hit the couch. This dark, cold, winter stuff is really getting to me. Vermont is beautiful but right now I'm not feeling it. I'm grumpy with everyone so I'm going to try to adjust my attitude. It lasts longer when I do that without drinking

OK, I'm in. I can do this if I just face it one day at a time. Weekends are hard for me because I like to drink -- haha, that is what popped up in my mind when I tried to decide why weekends are hard for me. Sad but true! I know weekends are hard for all of us. Maybe the crux of my struggle is that I'm 11 days in and the novelty as worn off. How did you guys get through this phase?

day 6, looking forward to dinner and going out to a movie with the kids tonight. That and a hangover/blackout free weekend with all the time and freedom to actually do something besides drink. :-)

Happy Friday from the west coast of the States! It's great to see so many people here!

I don't have a whole lot planned myself but I think tomorrow while I'm out and about, I'll treat myself by getting a few "beauty" things done.

Here's to another sober weekend!

Hi everyone! I am having a good day. Spent the early afternoon working from home (I'm a transcriptionist and editor). I'm leaving for a new meeting I haven't tried yet in about half an hour. I'm getting burnt out on the meetings around here, will be nice to hear some different speakers! Then I'm going to pick up some pizza or chinese food on the way home. Then home and putting my desk together, I've been working on it for 3 weeks now, it's my project, the thing is huge. Then some more work after, then a Netflix movie.

Holli... The novelty of sobriety did not wear off. That sounds like an addictive voice saying that to you. I went through the now what's for a while. Give it some time. Ask the same question Monday after staying sober and see if you still feel that way.

Nmd... Mish...seahorse ... Welcome to Sr tend the weekender thread!

I am in!

So I'm learning that weekends are really a huge trigger for me. I'm going to avoid any food establishment that serves alcohol this weekend (except for tonight but I'm good).

I'm going to take the kids and dog to the park for some sunshine, and also take the kids rollerskating at some point. And I'm going to go shopping - retail therapy!

I'll fit in some meetings and have my sponsor and other friends in recovery to call if I have an urge.

That's my plan and I'm sticking to it!

eta: I'm 18 days sober and my record is 21 days sober ---- so close to beating it!

Well I'm only a little less than 3 weeks but its just one step at a time for me. Lots of reading, trying to keep busy - lots planned, battling those sneaky AV thoughts.

Full Weekend 2 underway.... glad you are here! I don't want to let you all down!

No chance I will drink but down tonight. So I am keeping busy cleaning things that don't need cleaning just to stay busy.

Anyway... Good to see so many newcomers to the thread and those still racking them up.

Woo hoo!

Hi Seahorse, I run my own transcription business so I know what it's like constantly having others' voices in your head. I specialise in medical though and often type letters for psychiatrists and an addictions clinic. So I type about people struggling with depression, anxiety and addictions, all of which I have. Can be a challenge sometimes I can tell u! Off to my First Ladies only AA meeting this afternoon. Wish me luck x

Hanging in there. Long, stressful day and now I'm alone in my hotel with a big happy hour going on downstairs. AV is making a lot of noise.

I'm hunkered down in my room with a Sprite Zero and a bag of white cheddar popcorn (yuck!)

Should I let my neighbors know that it's nice that they're in love, but I can hear pretty much everything that's going on over there.
